I recently bought a few patches from a vintage shop near me, the top is Charlie Chaplin but I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about the circle or star, or if they're simply just random patch designs.

Not Sure about the Star, but the Arrow in the circle could possibly be a two-tone regimental badge, if it is it'll prob be from a Armoured or Motorised Regiment, not sure about the star.

You could try scanning, cropping the images to individual patches, and reverse google image searching them. That's what I would do.

I tried on the arrow badge after editing it for a cleaner result, turned up nothing relevant.
The arrow appears to be United States US Army First Support Command.
I'd guess that the Chaplin patch is an army Chaplain patch, maybe from the 40's.
I think that top patch is that Hitler fella.
