I was going through the list of extensions in windows to edit the programs that open, but by accident i set .bat files to open with notepad++, and now i have no way of executing .bat files, i tried assigning .bat files to the cmd executable but that did not work, does someone know how to turn it back to its original state so it actually runs?
lol, I just looked for what the default application is on my system and it says "Unknown application"!

Just remove .bat from registered extensions list within Notepad++. Run Notepad++ as administrator (if you're on Vista / 7), go to settings > preferences > file association > delete .bat from the right column.

Thanks, it worked.
What are .bat's ment to be opened in?
I think he wanted them to be executed (ran), but when you edit them they are normally opened in Notepad.
