I really enjoy Facepunch and it seems like a relative oasis on the sea of piss that is the interwebs
I was wondering why my fellow Facepunchers enjoyed these forum so much.
I like Facepunch because of:
[B]-Fairly friendly community.
-Mods rule with an iron fist.
-Complete lack of meme usage aside from Fast Threads and the Minecraft Forum.
-Users are very Valve-oriented in their gaming practices.
-Mostly composed of PC games.
-No "lol, is bestest evar xD" sort of posters.
-The UI is fairly streamlined compared to some other forums I've lurked on before.
-I like the whole "Gold Member" system it seems better than many other "ranking" systems based on post count.
-The moderators here seem alot nicer than many of the moderators on other forums/sites that I've visited.[/B]

One of the few forums with a decent amount of intelligent people in. Also like it for the funny incidents like the spicytornado one and many more. Also a great resource of any kind of knowledge.

The GD and GGD sections are awesome, and the LMAO pictures thread has completely spoiled me.

Pretty much the same reason I sign up to any forum, because the content appeals to me.
Nothing else to do with my life instead to come here.
Becuase I have no life.

It's my favourite forum and it has everything.
I joined for the "My hot wet dream" thread, I stick because of the LMAO pics thread, fast threads, and e-republik and because It's really the only place I know of on the internet that can sustain me, entertainment-wise.
Plus, since my real-life friends don't stimulate me intelectually, I can usually find some threads worthy of having me debating in them.
If any mods are reading this thread I wanted to ask, why did you choose to be a mod?
News about games i like, tricks in life and so on. Fair mods and a fun/great community.
I don't think they really chose, more like they got picked and because becoming a moderator on this forum is apparently better then winning one million dollars the only answer to being chosen is yes.
LMAO pics, Rule 34, videos section, and sometimes general discussion/news. That's about it.
I'm not sure what I would do if this site just shut down, I go here for everything.

I started visiting Facepunch because the GENERAL GAMES discussion section is one of the better ones I've found on the internet.
Not too many trolls or idiot fanboys, just people who like video games talking about video games.
It's surprisingly hard to find that these days.

As others have said, it's a time waster.
I used to actively post in the PC forum from 07 through mid 09...but that's not worth it anymore. I just stop by here whenever I'm bored now.
I grew out of my other forum and my friends post here(or should I say lurk?)
