Looking to get some new RAM, what's the best for under $100 AUD? Has to be 8 gb total (individual or 2x, it's fine.) at minimum.
Would prefer to be a white colour scheme.
DDR3? DDR4? RAMBUS?

What processor/mobo is this going on?

DDR3. Am considering this

ASRock 970 Extreme4
Bumping this, need an opinion on the above quick.
This would be a better option but it's black and $3 over budget

RAM speeds are for the most part irrelevant right? so just go for the most capacity for your buck from the reputable brands I guess
Eh, for the most part. But it does help with minimum framerate, moreso on AMD chips/lower performance chips. 1866 isn't really going to make any difference though, you'd have to get to >2400mhz for it to be worth it.
As far as RAM speeds/timings go, keep in mind that RAM with higher frequencies/speeds will have higher (slower) timings, and vice versa. It's almost always a balance, ultimately making the RAM speed and timing insignificant overall. There may be some minute difference visible on a benchmark, but for everyday use and gaming, there is no reason for it to have any noticable impact.

Actually I'd recommend taking a look at some gaming tests for minimum framerate for RAM speeds. It really does help.

Looks like I was indeed wrong.

That taken into account, the highest RAM clock your motherboard supports (without overclocking) is 1866 MHz, so I'd go with either this or this.

Keep in mind that's an integrated GPU so it gets much more benefit from it than a dedicated GPU would.
Yeah that's a bit of an exaggerated example tbh, but they're barely upping the clock speed at all so it's smaller than it'd otherwise be.
