What are the best of the best for gaming laptops I vote Alienware for its great parts and awesome features
Alienware sucks, Dell is where it's at. :downs:
Anything but Alienware - their laptop build quality is pathetic, especially the charger ports.
I bought this recently: Amazon Link. Runs source games decently, no lag at all.
Alienware sucks, Dell is where it's at. :downs:
That best be a joke. [sp] Dell owns Alienware [/sp] I like Republic of Gamers / ASUS gaming laptops. Mine plays Crysis on high :downs: [img_thumb]http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o145/thrawn2787/IMG_0048.jpg?t=1279678694[/img_thumb]
I might get this in the future: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dell+-+Inspiron+Laptop+/+AMD+Athlon%26%23153%3B+II+Processor+/+15.6%22+Display+/+3GB+Memory+/+320GB+Hard+Drive+-+Mars+Black/9949268.p?id=1218199528270&skuId=9949268 does it look any good?
Alienware sucks, Dell is where it's at. :downs:
Alienware is made by dell... [editline]02:31AM[/editline]
Anything but Alienware - their laptop build quality is pathetic, especially the charger ports.
Whats wrong with them exactly? I've been meaning to get one
Whats wrong with them exactly? I've been meaning to get one
Then why did you state them being so awesome in the OP if you didn't have one to begin with?
Acer makes great price to performance gaming laptops. Most of the Aspires are affordable and good for their price.
Alienware is made by dell...
He was joking, that's why he said :downs: not .
Toshiba has a very powerful line of gaming laptops, kind of expensive, but they are very stable and powerful, the X505 series are crazy powerful for laptops, but be warned, you might have to put on replacement thermal paste to keep it from overheating.
Asus make good bang for your buck laptops.
I've almost consistently stated this, however, the Gateway NV79 is excellent. http://support.gateway.com/s/notebook/2009/gateway/nv/NV79/NV79sp2.shtml I'm enjoying it immensely.
It's far from a gaming laptop: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220698&Tpk=1201t Though it's $399 Canadian, though can play L4D2 (Somewhat), Alien Swarm (Somewhat), Garry's Mod, CS:S and AudioSurf quite well. Hammer also works great on it too. Screen resolution is kickass for it's size!
MSI Gx720 gaming notebook. Love it.
I personally have an Acer 5740G 15.6". cost me 800 euros, runs everything i have maxed, heats up like a motherfucker though, a cooling pad helps a lot but i need to change the thermal paste... it's an i7 620M, 4 GB DDR3 1066MHz, Radeon HD5650 1 GB and 640GB of hard drive, best bang for buck laptop i could find around here
I don't say Alienware is bad but it's the pricing that's bad. They come with Dual ATI mobility radeon HD 5870 which is quite powerful I think. It performs slightly more powerful than the desktop HD5850(more like a 5770 crossfire). So all in all the specs are quite good for a laptop but terrible pricing. We actually hate the pricing not the laptop.
Whats wrong with them exactly? I've been meaning to get one
My friend had one and the charger port became detached from the motherboard 4 times in a row (with him RMAing it each time). And he is certainly not the only one.
www.sagernotebook.com Great value, Great performance, Great look. What more could you want?
I <3 my Dell XPS 1640 but that's just me.
Alienware sucks, Dell is where it's at. :downs:
Dell is alienware. herpadwerp
