So I have saved about $300~ and I think it's time to upgrade my current build. I am thinking of a GPU upgrade. CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 @ 3.5GHz RAM: G.Skill 4GB (2x2GB) @ 1066MHz GPU: 1GB 4870 Overclocked PSU: Antec 550watt MoBo: ASUS M4A78T-E Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Your motherboard isn't getting an AM3+ update, so you should replace it if you want to upgrade your CPU in the future. You can get a 6870 and M5A97 for $300, or if you don't want to replace the motherboard right now a 560 Ti or 6950
I was looking at a Sapphire 2GB 6950, only $280. Leaning towards unlocking it though.
It's highly unlikely to get a Rev.1 card this far into production, so unlocking it is about 0.01% chance now.
Ah, yeah, that's what I'm seeing right now. Well I guess I'm now looking at 6950's that overclock well, any suggestions?
About any card with dual fans will work fine. I have a 1GB XFX which is stable at maximum clocks.
Yeah, I think I'll stick with XFX, all my cards have always been XFX , haha. Thanks for helping. EDIT: Will my PSU be enough for the XFX 6950?
