Certain Winterboard theme not working on 2G Ipod Touch on 3.0 software.

I've noticed that after upgrading to 3.0 software, a good theme on my IPod has stopped working.

It still has basic functionality, but usually if I enter an application and press the home key to get to the springboard, the status bar goes away. Sometimes entering an application will make it come back, sometimes it won't. Usually I need to restart my springboard to get it to work.

Apparently this is happening to several people who posted in that thread.
Is this a fairly common thing for themes to break like this on 3.0 software? And is there a simple fix for it?
