When you post/access a page you also give out rudimentary browser information, but yeah it's mostly IP tracking I think

I'm interested in how the fuck can any sites tell that I'm using an ad blocker on Chrome, especially since this browser actually loads the ads and then hides them, as opposed to Firefox, where ads are not requested from the server at all.

I'm guessing there's a script to detect the addon (i'm not familiar with chrome) by seeing if the image is set to be display:invisible or display:none in CSS, which sends an AJAX packet to the server with the message 'USER IS BLOCKING OUR ADS'.

Either that or the addon has some sort of trace like UserAgent that can be detected
