Cool. Not getting one, but skyping with my friend who has. They seem pretty good.
So much for it being a blunder.

I knew it wouldn't. Hype never comes through
huh, it's out already?
One million xbox one's sold in a day, in 13 regions.
One million PS4's sold in a day in two regions
sony and microsoft are probably going to be the same sales wise in the west
but there's no way in hell MS will be able to beat sony in japan. no way in hell.

I dunno about that. the PS3 still hasn't sold more in america than the 360, and the PS4 currently has a massive lead of something like 400,000 consoles in america alone.
i have a feeling history will repeat itself except in opposing order. PS4 will probably lead america for it's entire life cycle. if not, then it will for a long time

And how many consoles did Microsoft and Sony have in stock? Probably not much more than 1 million. I'd imagine they basically just decided to spread it out differently, and as such it shouldn't that much of an impact. I think the PS4 will sell more, but day one numbers are not a good way to deem whether there's long term demand or not.
We'll what happens over the course of a year seeing as neither of their launch line ups are setting the world on fire (or even making it moderately warm).
One million Xbone world wide. Compared to ONE MILLION PS4 in the United states ALONE. PS4 hasn't even been released around the world yet.
Hold on, I want to know the exact number of Xbone sold in the United states alone in comparison to the PS4.
Sony sold 1 million PS4 units in 24 hours after launching last Friday in just the United States and Canada combined.
compared to
Microsoft sold over 1 million of its new Xbox One game consoles within 24 hours in 13 countries combined.
Sony have yet to include Japan, Europe, Southeast Asia and Australia. Microsoft have included only 13 region. This might be considered abysmal if one were to take individual countries sales into account.
Great, now I can finally read feedback on which controller I should get for my PC

Except that:
We don't know if the PS4 or XB1 scored 1.0 or 1.5 million sales;
The X360 sold more units in the US and UK than the rest of the world combined, with US scoring 3x as many sales as the UK, so the 12 other regions beside the US don't really add all that many sales
The Xbox One costs a hundred dollars more than the PS4 and, unlike the PS4, is not sold at a loss;
Aaaaaand, the Xbox One had fucktons of very negative press surrounding it.
So I'd say it's doing pretty good.
