This makes me suspicious, the 'story' campaign was always by far the worst part of monster hunter games IMO. It was great for new players as it was pretty easy, but the guild quest progression was where it was at I hope its either A: Completely skippable, or B: Completely playable with friends with shared progression, or C: Glorified guild quests I never really wanted any plot out of MH, the games gameplay was a strong enough hook in itself that anything else was just a distraction
It's probably just because hunting each monster takes so much time and you have to do all the gather quests and such to unlock each tier of monsters. It has been awhile since I played MH4:U but I'm pretty sure that's how it went. Hopefully it's multiplayer though.
They've said there's no separation between Guild and Village quests, it's all one giant questline that you can undertake together
50 hours is pretty standard for a MonHun "storyline". And the interview outright states there's a hell of a lot more to do post-story (and that's on top of the free updates and events it also promises). It's still going to eat up hundreds of hours like any proper MonHun.
