Spore lacked the depth promised by Maxis. Ironically this is also my biggest fear for this game as it really isn't much to to as of now other than build things.

Whether or not it was as good as it was supposed to be it's still a massively impressive bit of technology, and I still enjoyed playing it. I really wish they had dumped the space shit though and focused way more on the creature phase, because imo that was the more interesting part of the game
