Im at a lan party and i thought i would be clever to make a tricky password for my friends to guess. I fucking forgot it and now i'm basically fucked. I have absolutely no idea what i put in. Is there any program or trick i can use to get in? Right now im on my friends computer. I have a USB key handy so i can put programs on there. It is an administrative account. Vista 64bit home premium.
LOL. Failure... Did you google it?

OPHCrack. Only legal if you use it on your own PC of course. If you put in symbols or made it really long you're fucked unless you download special rainbow tables though.
You would need to crack your system.
I downloaded some vista recovery disc from some site... forgot where, but it had a program in the start menu called Locksmith, which can reset passwords in User Accounts. Try googling the program, i believe it's free.

Ophcrack is the best. Just burn a live CD, pop it in the drive, reboot and you'll have your password in no time. http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/
I'm not sure about vista, but XP has a way to remove passwords without much hassle.

Can't you log in to the hidden admin account? If there still is such a thing.
Ophcrack would work, but I personally keep a Linux USB-drive handy, with chntpw installed on it, allowing me to open up the SAM file and clear passwords (C:\Windows\System32\Config\SAM). I also carry a bunch of other utilities on it for various purposes. Portable OS's are awesome
Backtrack.
Can't you log in to the hidden admin account? If there still is such a thing.
Its deactivated in vista AFAIK..
So easy. Go in Backtrack, copy "utils.exe" in system32, save a backup of it, make a copy of "cmd.exe" and replace the "utils.exe" you just backed up, go into the Vista login screen, press Windows Key + U and poof, command prompt with full administrative privileges.
I feel like a retard, turns out one of my friends actually guessed the fucking password that i completely forgot. I am predictable :(
Not without knowing the admin password genius.
Hey genius, there are programs that take off the password in mere seconds. This applies to both UNIX and Windows. If you have physical access to the machine, you can do whatever you want. http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/
youarecrapatlife
Don't beat yourself over this, champ. You'll forget all about this, I'm sure of it.
