That's okay, there's like a thousand more sites I can go to to do the same exact thing.
But what about the other legitimate uses for converting a youtube video to mp3? I sometimes use it download sound effects I don't think this will go through.
Oh hey, that's the website I use whenever I need certain sound effects.
Anyone downloading music from youtube is doing it very, very wrong. This lawsuit is pretty bullshit.
Why not go about suing the people who invented the internet? After all they've created a service / tool that allows pirating. What an absolute joke!
My first thought is that they have no legal grounds and the case should get thrown out, but they do have a lot of money to leverage their position. It's a shame legal outcomes can be bought.
Here's an alternative if you wind up needing it: clipconverter.cc
If it gets bad enough, there will just be a TOR site for all your ripping needs.
Media corporations are so narrow-minded that they never think about legitimate legal uses for the stuff they sue. Absolute trash.
If it gets bad enough, there will just be a TOR site for all your ripping needs.
Not even needed. YoutubeCenter adds download links for the videos to the page, since they are the direct links to them on Google's servers they will work until YouTube swaps to only DASH formats (if they ever do). There's also youtube-dl so you can just download the highest quality audio stream (which is still pretty low) and skip the bad transcode to MP3.

What's next? suing the creators of screen-recording software because it technically can be used for piracy? [editline]wait[/editline]
youtube-dl can also download DASH formats as far as i know
All the high-resolution video and decent audio quality tracks can only be accessed via DASH (AFAIK) And yes, Youtube-dl handles those too.
i just looked at the legal papers... rip phillip i guess, sony AND warner are suing him lol
Here's an alternative if you wind up needing it: clipconverter.cc
plenty of other options
But what about the other legitimate uses for converting a youtube video to mp3? I sometimes use it download sound effects I don't think this will go through.
You could always use something archaic as using stereo mix and record.
You could always use something archaic as using stereo mix and record.
Or just get a whole suite designed for the purpose of ripping shit from sites http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/
If you don't mind using CMD, I've always loved youtube-dl https://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/ Absolutely zero bloaty shit "youtube-dl -f bestvideo+bestaudio [link]", or just -f bestaudio for music, and best of all it supports fucking everything [editline]27th September 2016[/editline] Yes it supports shitloads of porn sites too [editline]27th September 2016[/editline]
Or just get a whole suite designed for the purpose of ripping shit from sites http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/
I personally don't trust anything that installs adware by default
I personally don't trust anything that installs adware by default
Never bothered me but then again I'm using an old version of it where it was just a "do you want to install our toolbar??" hit no and it never asks again.

However I uploaded a video with this:
Video: MPEG2 Video 1920x1080 29.97fps 22273kbps [V: Video Media Handler [eng] (mpeg2 main, yuv420p, 1920x1080, 22273 kb/s)] Audio: QT PCM 48000Hz stereo 1536kbps [A: NRT Metadata Handler [eng] (pcm_s16be, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, s16, 1536 kb/s)]
And YouTube refused to encode to anything other than 128 kbps AAC so I dunno how the fuck you actually get it to vorbis it up. there are extensions and programs you can use you may be able to take down sites but you can't erase programs from people's computers
there are extensions and programs you can use you may be able to take down sites but you can't erase programs from people's computers
I mostly use Cool Edit. I've used youtube-mp3 before though when I'm just too lazy to boot it up. There's so many options both private and public that there's zero point to this lawsuit, other than stated above to make an example.
I remember when I used to rip songs off youtube. Used to listen to them with some old tinny apple headphones. The experience was basically that "do i look like i know what a jpeg is" hank hill video
Isn't it a huge gray areal? Recording TV-channels are legal, as long its for personal use. It's covered by "fair use". Even decades ago they tried to make VCR recordings illegal. So shouldn't it technically be legal to download any stream (That you didn't rent), as long its for personal use?
Megaupload had it's legitimative uses too, but it got pulled into the shitter. Let's just hope this isn't another case of that.
back in the day, before I used youtube-dl, and used chrome I had an application to browse the cache, and copied it out What's the law in copying something that's saved inside the browser?
back in the day, before I used youtube-dl, and used chrome I had an application to browse the cache, and copied it out What's the law in copying something that's saved inside the browser?
If the record labels had their way, that would be illegal According to them, making an mp3 of a CD to play on your phone is unauthorised copying
And because they have money and influence, they'll "choose" a judge that believes they're right.
