• Games for hoarders

Basically - games that don't necessarily revolve around collecting stuff (Pokemon, TCG etc.), but games that create the potential for that. That's really the only thing that keeps me in a game after a while, and I'm looking for more games in that vibe. For example: X Souls series - collecting different armors and weapons to create juicy fashionable combinations. Gran Turismo - thousands of cars, 'nuff said. Borderlands - self explanatory, at least until you find out most of the guns differ marginally. Hitman - I just had to collect all the weapons to fill up the shed GTA - rare cars, properties, all the good stuff Elder Scrolls series - more prevalent in Morrowind, where armors were a bit more abundant and varied, but still fun. Test Drive Unlimited - cars, housing decoration, clothes, houses, so many collectibles! Shame the games are a buggy mess. WoW - mounts, mounts, mounts, mounts Basically anything with a lot of customization options, housing where you can collect stuff, weapons, spells, houses, spouses, anything! I'd prefer mostly PC games, PS3 works as well.
Fallout New Vegas. Gotta get all the Gold I can.
Fallout New Vegas. Gotta get all the Gold I can.
Kinda qualifies as an ES game, I only got 3 though.
Black Flag is pretty good as far as hoarding goes. Crafting all the equipment, improving the ship to maximum, completing every area and such takes a really long. There's also a legendary ship in each corner of the map that will fuck you up and will give you something like 20,000 R if you successfully board it. One of those ships will straight up ram you and destroy you in one or two hits if you're not fully upgraded.
No one mentioned TF2 yet?
S.T.A.L.K.E.R series. Hoard ALL of the Vodka.
Definitely get Fallout: New Vegas. The vanilla game has all kinds of things to collect. Do you have a PC?
Guild Wars 2, an MMO but also a collector's dream. There's a tab in your bank marked as Collections that can store all weapon and armor skins, minipets, and rare materials. Not to mention there's hundreds of armor dyes that you can collect and use infinitely.
X Series (REBIRTH NEVER HAPPENED), hoard the Universe
Skyrim and Oblivion. I collect all of the unique books and weapons and dump them in my house. It's pretty scary actually.
Dungeon Defenders Far Cry 3 (get da bases, get da guns, get da addons, get da upgrades, get da idols) Divinity: Original Sin Torchlight 2 / Diablo 3 Minecraft mod packs (Especially the magic centered ones) Terraria (Moreso than Starbound) [editline]16th May 2014[/editline]
Skyrim and Oblivion.
I got a mod which meant that all of the houses have a secret passage to a central house and I spend hours and hours just collecting pretty armour, books and enchanted weapons
I had a castle in Morrowind a long time ago with a museum and armory filled with weapons, armor, books and other trinkets. Every display case was filled and categorized to certain stuff. I only came back to it recently and thought what a wasted summer that was haha.

Donkey Kong 64.
Oh my god give a link I need this
Might not work, haven't used it in a while http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=7611&searchtext=hideout

Dragon's Dogma I guess. There's a lot of stuff to get and your storage space at the inn keepers has unlimited slots as far as I know.
Dragon's Dogma I guess. There's a lot of stuff to get and your storage space at the inn keepers has unlimited slots as far as I know.
It also encourages you to hoard due to how the equipment upgrade system works
Well I mean Saints Row 3 has a bunch of blow up doll collectibles, money stashes, drug stashes, vehicles, and clothing. I guess it could be played like you want, I spent a fuckload of time collecting unique cars with a coop buddy for no reason other than "I FEEL LIKE DRIVING A GARBAGE TRUCK OR GOLF CART."
I can definitely vouch for Gran Turismo. Even GT3, which only had 130 cars or so. It was always so satisfying unlocking the cars for getting gold in the licence tests, and the F1 cars as well. Man, if they re-release that game on PS4 my life will be complete.
Aren't they going to re-release GT6 on the PS4?
There's been some rumours about it. Apparently if they do, it will be next year. Kinda weird that GT6 was released on PS3 after the PS4 launched; the PS4 really needed a strong exclusive racing title to combat Forza 5 but even if DriveClub didn't get delayed it looks like it wouldn't have come close to being any kind of contender.
To be fair seeing PS2 quality cars in a PS4 title would've been really weird :v:
Better than no Gran Turismo at all imo. I'd even buy a non-HD port of GT3 or GT4 if they released it on PS4.
Dark Souls. Loads of different armors and weapons and shit you can get, and the best part is you can carry EVERYTHING AT ONCE. the game only takes into account the things you have equipped to effect your character's movement.
Terraria. Have fun with those drop rates and getting the trophies/masks from the bosses.
LittleBigPlanet, You can't leave one prize bubble ignored or it will bug you forever
Ragnarok Online: The original Hat collecting sim. Some only drop off certain monsters if you sacrifice a leprachaun/goat/Dodo hybrid during a blue blood moon, some require an equally OCD amount of monster drops to make. Also, like 80-90% of the monsters in game drop cards, which are like Gems in Diablo 2 in that they go in slots in certain gear and confer "bonuses". A term I use loosely as a good majority of them are crap. Mabinogi: They recently added a thing where you can store, or "collect" clothing items. Some are player made, some are drops, sadly most are cash shop/gachapon only...... You also can "collect"(more so you have a log) of cooked foods that you've eaten.
