• Quick Question on Ram Compatibility

Hey guys, I currently have this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128437 and my friend is offering me a great price on this ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231468 So I have two questions: 1. I can see the memory standard of my motherboard is lower than the speed of the RAM. My understanding is that it just scales it down to the fastest speed your motherboard will operate at. Is that correct? 2. I'm currently running an Intel i5 750 CPU. Is the RAM compatible with the i5 series? I looked it up, but couldn't seem to find a clear answer. Thank you!
You linked the same thing twice [editline]8th June 2012[/editline] But to answer your questions, yes it drops to whatever the mobo can handle if it's too fast and there aren't ever really compatibility issues regarding different cpus/mobos
Oopsie, my bad, here's the ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231468 Thanks for the help -- so there should be no hardware compatibility problems?
It should work fine. The max you'll get it at is 1333MHz, but you'll be able to raise that if you overclock the processor.
