I got OTR for £6 of Zavvi.co.uk for PC the day BEFORE it came out. Worth it just for the sandbox mode to me.
Is there really anything else they can do with the series?

There was absolutely nothing wrong with Off the Record. If anything, it improved almost everything in DR2 while adding new content. It was only $40 on its release too.
What's wrong with off the Record? It's an improved DR2 with a fun over the top storyline, and the price went down really quickly. It's like 10 times the deal most DLCs are.
Off the Record was good if you didn't buy DR2. It was pretty much a better version of DR2, but it was pretty much an expansion that was sold as a seperate game.
More Dead Rising? Yes please, the Dead Rising Series is awesome. Just don't pussy out and keep the real time campaign.
After Case West, they better resolve the damn story with the Blonde girl and the apparent "cure" for the infection.
I hope they wait long enough for the next gen of consoles to come out, i want even more content than both DR and DR2 combined. I want an entire fucking city to run around in, with no load screens.

I always thought the Dead Rising writing was bad on purpose, like sort of a joke of itself.
But it is Capcom so it probably wasnt intentional.

Do people seriously want good writing? Dead Rising has always been cheesy as fuck on purpose. I mean this is a series with zombie killing reality shows and sexy lesbian sword fighters. It's meant to be over the top.

maybe they are trying to get from this the third person zombie sandbox game that we all want.

I don't know if i'd enjoy a game as much if it didn't have super-cheesy writing, They'd need to seriously pull a 360 on the themes and gameplay in order to make a serious story work.
I mean how serious were you expecting Dead Rising, I mean jesus.(only one I could find with both scenes)

Adam the Clown was an awesome kind of cheesy, most bosses in DR2 we're terrible.
Dead Rising is one of my all time favorite game series.
I can't even begin to describe how much I played DR1.
Getting the "Transmissioner" and "Saint" achievements in a single playthrough is the single most difficult gaming feat imaginable - moreso than getting 7 day survivor.
Yeah, I always thought they made the story totally overthetop and cheesy, anyway the boss in the church where he gets married in DR2 was insane, what a crazy fucker.
Dead Rising was the game that got me to buy an xbox 360.
Also, I remember their is a katana on top of awning when you jump over the railing in the orange juice place at the start.
Also the taser completely destroys the first boss in seconds.
And if you are quick enough, you can go get guns at the gun store at the very start without fighting the boss.
Fuck that game is hot balls.
