Tokyo 42 is one of those rare times when real architectural theory and video game world development collide, and I find that immensely fascinating. The developer gives an interesting lecture about architecture in video games as well. He's actually one of the keynote speakers for the Realms conference at London Games Fest, alongside Catrina Stewart (Office S&M, product/graphic designer and architectural theorist/visualizer) and a few other interesting personalities. What you find when you look into this kind of thing is that game spaces and real spaces are actually very closely connected, and they influence each other more than we expect.
