Man, I remember playing this with my dad when I was like 4 years old. After many hours of playing, you could still see the cockpit when you closed your eyes
Awesome, I remember playing this and found it really hard. And now I tried it again and it's still hard as fuck.
Yessss. My childhood and origin of my alias :v:
I bought this on GoG only 4 days ago... Though Descent 2 and 3 aren't on Steam so I guess I've got that leg up.
Instant buy. Hell I must have played 1000s of hours on this when I got my 1st PC.
Is the Steam version as good as the GoG version? Also, I never played this, but I heard it's a classic.
Get the source port, it's pretty much mandatory. http://www.dxx-rebirth.com/ Oh yeah, this is literally one of the greatest FPSes ever made. dat theme
Still have the original disks. (Yes, disks.) :yarr:
There are so many old games that I wish I had disks for, this and Doom among them.
Quickest £2.50 i've spent, loved this game as a kid.
Where's Descent 2 and 3? D: Descent 1 has a STUPID difficulty curve. Like, every 5 or so levels the difficulty skyrockets. FUCKING CLASS 1 DRILLERS.

I especially remember that one trap where you had to get a Red key, but by doing so would release 6 Class 1 drillers all around you. You were fucked without invulnerability or invisibility. Funnily though, if placed in Descent 2, the class 1 drillers aren't even remotely threatening anymore. They must've changed the damage table between games. (yes the second game has all robots from the first, but they are never used)
