Simply post games your underrated games preferably with a reason why they were underrated. My 5 games: Spongebob Squarepants: The Movie: The Videogame and Battle For Bikini Bottom for Consoles (PC version were shit, and they're both the same game with a different skin) This game was pretty much one of the best platformers of all time. It's level design and enemy variety was unmatched, and they weren't just the same jump-on-its-head-oh-god enemies with different skins either. The gameplay mechanics were actually more advanced than this. The games being spongebob games actually added to the quality too whether you were a cartoon loving kid or not. These were two games I was honestly happy to buy even if they were the same with more levels. I would, to this day, pay $60 for both even with one being basically a giant DLC pack. The Haunted Mansion This was loosely based off of the haunted mansion in the same way that paper is loosely based off of trees. There are a grand total of two maybe three references to the okish-at-best Eddie Murphy Disney movie throughout the entire game (and it was a goddamn good thing too). Each level presented a new puzzle ranging from the simple kill all enemies to the complex shift the level into an alternate reality and climb into paintings just so you can reach a light switch. The combat itself was was nothing special, but it at least wasn't point and shoot with your main weapon being able to fire off varied shots which actually had different effects rather than just increasing damage (for the most part anyway). Scooby Doo: Night of a Hundred Frights Probably the least overrated on this list, but still a good game which lost publicity due to being overshadowed by the fact that it was based on a TV show (notice all of these were based on TV/Movies). It was a simple enough 3D platformer with Scooby Doo fighting ghosts while finding various inventions by defeating bosses. These inventions would allow to progress further into the levels which were absolutely massive (probably the biggest selling point of the game). Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban for Consoles (PC version was shit) Again its mostly the level design that wins this title over for me. The grand scope of it all just isn't found in a lot of modern games. Even games like Super Mario Galaxy, while having pretty good level design, didn't come close, in part due to a lack of variety. Of course that's just my opinion, but I found that this representation of Hogwarts (while straying absolute miles from the movies and books) was simply fantastic. The gameplay was simplistic but fun, requiring you to assign spells to the different buttons on the controller and use them to defeat enemies which all had different weak points rather than being the same jump-on-its-head-oh-god enemies with different skins (noticing a theme here?). This was also one of the many reasons the PC version was shit as it picked your spells for you so it became point and cast with shitty platforming. TL;DR all of these games had fantastic level design you simply don't (or at least very rarely) see in modern games. The main gameplay was often simplistic, but it never felt tedious or boring and at the least it was varied. It wasn't just point and shoot or jump and land or x and y. The enemies actually for the most part had different weak points and weren't reskinned weak headed walking mushroom shits.
Mega Man 6 is pretty underrated from what I can tell, it was one of the last NES games to be released (1994), and by that time most people got tired of the NES and moved on to the SNES. It also had some of the best music in the series, and one of the coolest powerups in an MM game. [sp]see: Jet and Power Adaptor[/sp]
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days I think the story is decent, two old guns for hire get in too much shit because of one mistake. Gameplay is very boring, just cover, shooting, 2 guns and canister throwing. It has an interesting approach to the visual presentation which I find cool but I can understand people going blind from it. The whole bad camera angle was one of the selling points so you can't be surprised to get lens flares 24/7 in your face. One thing that annoyed me was the drifting camera sometimes didn't allow proper aiming. Also, the cover mechanic protects you from about 40% of shots most of the time. I heard the multiplayer is pretty good but I never got into because I couldn't find populated servers.
The Darkness is really great but it seems like no one's played it.
LEGO Batman. Nothing is more fun than turning on invincibility and taking a stroll down the streets of Gotham as batman on a bike while listening to Bruce Springsteen's Thunder Road
BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien. Like, i bet most of people has bought it cause of Those TF2 Shoes, but i really love that game!
The Movies tbh :v: why is there no sequal lionhead damnit
S.T.A.L.K.E.R
TimeSplitters. More people should play it.
Final Fantasy VI, probably the best game of the entire franchise, but unfortunately it got almost completely overshadowed by 7.
this underrated thing is very weird. How does it even work? theres a game that didnt do well, but its still considered good by a group big enough to accord that the game is good and should have done better? wouldnt that mean that other people, bigger groups, considered it not as good to buy it, or at least not as noisy to catch up its attention? in that thinking flow, isnt the game underrated enough to be good as it stays underrated?
this underrated thing is very weird. How does it even work? theres a game that didnt do well, but its still considered good by a group big enough to accord that the game is good and should have done better?
No, people just post cult hits and get winners.
No, people just post cult hits and get winners.
its bassically: stuff i like as a minority in contrast of the main opinion.
[t]http://www.ffshrine.org/ps2-iso/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/goblincommander.jpg[/t] one of the best RTS game on consoles too bad i cant find it anywhere back when i was a kid because all the stores are filled with GTA and fifa/winning eleven(aka pes) and this [t]http://psoneclassics.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Future-Cop-LAPD-Coverart.jpg[/t] one of the games that MUST get an HD remake with an online feature because the "Precinct Assault" vs matches is the shit
The Darkness is really great but it seems like no one's played it.
I have I thought it was a great game but my save progress somehow got deleted or something since I beated the game and I feel like not doing it again. [editline]5th August 2013[/editline] Dr.Muto was underrated as hell and only had 1 game and such I played it on the ps2 and it was a good or ok game you basically collect atoms and everything to rebuild planet earth and such and collect parts to build a machine and you turn into animals like a rat and gorilla. Sorry for the confusion on the 1 game part I ment it had other titles and such but did not sell well like destroy all humans... and I had this for ps2.
SOTS 2 is really nice now, that's what I can say.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R
It's not exactly underrated but it should definitely be more popular.
[t]http://xk9.com/wp-content/pix/12/02/myst.png[/t] Probably one of my favorite point n click adventure games

I second Future Cop. El Matador is also underrated. I hadn't even heard of it until a year or two ago. It feels very much like a balance between Max Payne 2 and Max Payne 3.
The Movies tbh :v: why is there no sequal lionhead damnit
I used to love this game, I remember spending days on making one movie and uploading it to their website. I'm not sure how much I would want a sequal. I enjoyed the first one so much and if they make a sequal they should make it way more advanced.
Never seems to get much love, even from the people who play the series it is based off of (Total War). Not because it is bad by any means (in fact it is really fucking good) but because nobody has ever heard of it. This was literally my favorite game back in the day.
A very underrated game series is the jet set series [T]http://maxwellrandomly.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Jet_Set_Radio_Future.jpg[/T] [T]http://www.thextremepulse.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Jet-Set-Radio-jet-set-radio-future-23279882-1000-1049.jpg[/T] Also Getting Up was another underrated game [T]http://www.mixtapetorrent.com/files/contentsunderpressure.jpg[/T]
So I searched for Bomberman 64: The Second Attack in Google, and this came up in the Image previews: NSFW It even shows up with safesearch on :v: Anyway,
One of the best platformers on the N64 and yet it was so overlooked/underrated. I think it was so overlooked because of Mario 64.
the neverhood. an old PC point and click adventure made entirely with claymation. one of the most imaginative and interesting games i know of. gameplay starts at around 49 seconds
Also Getting Up was another underrated game [T]http://www.mixtapetorrent.com/files/contentsunderpressure.jpg[/T]
Yes this, I was about to post this. And as with every single one of these threads, I'll post the same thing that I always post; Seriously, you can pick this game up for pocket change, just buy it.
Dark Messiah.
I don't know many people who played Bully, and its really really good.
[img_thumb]http://image.gamespotcdn.net/gamespot/images/box/2/9/0/928290_71664_front.jpg[/img_thumb] i don't really hear this game talked about as much as superstar saga or bower's inside story, and more recently dream team. i love all the games in the series equally, and i think this is a really brilliant and also kind of unsettling and dark game that a lot of people just don't seem to talk about
