So my hitachi deskstar 750gb is 3 months old. It hasn't been making any weird noises, and appears to perform fine. When I formatted and installed windows 7 yesterday I did a WEI test and I'm pretty worried about my score. Is my hard drive failing? :ohdear:
What type of drive do you have? Scsi, sata, IDE, what? And no its not failing. Its probably just windows seven having a glitch, or you bought a slow drive. If it was failing your computer would do some odd crap. Such as make noises, cause crashes, even prevent boot up. If its sata try using a new cable. If its IDE, its fine because IDE is slow. If its scsi probably your cable.
Mine's the same, dont worry. Seems pretty broken to me, unless you have a SSD your gonna be lucky to push over 6.5 [editline]11:12PM[/editline] Also, next time hold Alt when you press print screen and it PS'es the active window, no need for cropping
it's SCSI also thanks for the tip about holding alt, didn't know that
np, also, your HDD is fine.
it's SCSI also thanks for the tip about holding alt, didn't know that
That hard drive is not SCSI, it's SATA. Don't rely on those Windows benchmarks scores, use a real hard disk benchmark like HDtune. http://www.hdtune.com/
My ram is listed below that and its 1066mhz, or what ever the highest ddr2 is.
