Hey,
My familiy needs a new printer after our old Epson Stylus DX4400 died last monday. It's mostly going to be used for printing text and scanning images/drawings. Now the reason I'm creating this thread is because I have no knowledge about printers/scanners at all and am a little overwhelmed by the sheer amount of different ones available on the market. I looked around a bit and found the "HP Deskjet 3050A e" but I don't know if that's any good, most people on amazon say it's a good iPhone printer and I don't think that's what we need. Also I'm located in germany. Some german review site suggested the "HP Officejet Pro 8500A Wireless" but that's a little over my budget and it's able to fax, which is a feature we don't really need. Another one that was suggested is the "Canon Pixma MG5250" which seems to be a relatively good one but I'd like to get some advise from people who know what they're talking about. I'm basically looking for a cheapish printer that does it's job being used daily for all sorts of purposes.
To sum it all up:
Printers I looked at:
HP Deskjet 3050A e (iPhone printer? Whatever that means)
HP Officejet Pro 8500A Wireless (a little expensive)
Canon Pixma MG5250 (seems to be the "best" one out of those three)
HP Officejet 6500A Plus Wireless (is just a "smaller" version of the 8500?)
~150€ budget. ~200€ if really necessary but I don't really want to pay that much.
Should be a network printer. The old one was plugged into my mom's computer but that kinda sucked so it'd be awesome to have that feature.
Printing/Scanning/Copying
Ink shouldn't run out too soon as the printer is going to be used almost daily.
Or am I worrying too much and should just go and buy the next best one? Thanks for any help in advance.
A HP Deskjet 3050A A is what I have its pretty awesome. Its the cheapest one.

What about all the people who say it's a good "iPhone printer" ?
Well, you can send an email w/ attachemnt and it will print it.
HP makes good printers. Their drivers are a bit shit though, they're usually crammed with ads and annoying desktop shortcuts.
I have a Samsung CLP 310, it's a really good and cheap colour laser printer. I also have a Epson Artisan 835, this printer is AMAZING if you want an AIO, especially if you install a continous ink system.
I suggest you to get an Epson printer.
They do some very high quality printing, but are quite slow in the printing itself.
If you are going to be printing daily, why not go laser, will be far cheaper in the long run.
HP LaserJet 4

I don't care if you want color. This thing will last you until your grandchildren turn 100.
They have network abilities too. Even under Windows 7 they are supported.
Brother is one of the good old brands, maybe check their selection out

Epson's are shit.
If you do not use them every day they clog up.
All printers are evil bastards that do everything to make IT support fellows like me miserable.
