The company also revealed that the Dirt, Grid and F1 titles will be united in an online racing hub called Racenet, allowing users to have a single profile across the three franchises and any other racing games the Codemasters Racing may create. The new service will launch on May 1, the same day a DiRT Showdown demo. The game will be the rebranded company's first release on May 25.
This sounds pretty cool.
Damn what a shame I was hoping for more OFP and Bodycount given how the first was such a totally stellar success and an amazing game!!

Oh man, Codemasters always made good racing games
Oh man, Codemasters always made good racing games
Agreed, they've always made great decisions with their racing games. Except when they shut down the online servers to one of their best games... GRID.
I wish they made the new Dirt a bit more realistic physics whise, didnt feel technical or challenging at all a mayority of the time. But good news anyway, they will never make full on sim's but atleast their shit is well fun.
Does this mean they're also dropping GFWL if they're using this Racenet system?

Bring on the GRID 2 please
I hope they make something to represent a "Gran Turismo" or "Forza Motorsports" of PC.

I miss Prisoner of War. They should remake it as a 10 year anniversary.
Maybe they could stop anally violating the good name of Operation Flashpoint and give it back to BIS or something.
I want another 1nsane. (yes, I know codemasters didn't develop it, but they did publish it..)
Bodycount was one of the worst FPS games I ever played.
Good, stay away from OFP. Better yet, give it back to BI.
I'm not sure if BI would want it back. The ArmA name's pretty well known by now and they've already rebranded their old OFP games with the ArmA name. (That and the codemasters games didn't exactly do wonders for the OFP name)

Always hated the name Codemasters. Sounds like group of kids that created a club for playing with html. I adored GRID though, it's like they've found a near perfect formula for racing games in terms of how realistic it should feel without the stuffy label of simulator. Proved to me racing games don't need to be Gran Turismo or from Simbin in order to be enjoyable.

Seems like the best choice as the only way that I can see that they would make money from there games since there action games weren't really up to mark. You know they predicted £49M pure profit from damnation, oh how wrong they were, and when I played it (at codemasters before release) it was terrible then and they all thought it was the best game.
Perhaps OPF will be given back to the original developers.
Always hated the name Codemasters. Sounds like group of kids that created a club for playing with html.
They sort of did. It was started by two brothers that were hobbyist game developers. They had a year to turn a profit and they managed to do just that.
I never understood why Codemasters tried to make FPS games. I mean I don't see how spending decades of making racing games was supposed to translate into making a FPS at all. The skill sets just don't match.
