• Nikon Coolpix S210 Lens Won't Shut

My camera has always worked fine, but today I tried to use it to zoom in, and now (although it still works fine) the lens will not go in when I turn it off. I realize this isn't the biggest error in the world, but eventually it's going to jam if it won't retract while not in use. Here's to hoping for a fix. This is likely a symptom of low battery or use of a non lithium-ion battery. If you are using a non-lithium-ion battery, go into your camera options and there should be a mode for Alkaline battery usage. It helps to conserve battery life and makes the camera compatible in low power conditions.
Thanks for the reply. It turns out there was sand, or dust, or something inside the gears. I spent half an hour tapping it on my knee, then when I turned it off it shut. So, thankfully, it was nothing complicated. Thanks, though.
No problem. It seems to be the most common issue with the design of this generation in pocket digital cameras.
