• Fixing an issue with my browser
    6 replies, posted
Hi! For the last few weeks, I've had an issue with Google Chrome and mostly Facepunch (but other websites occasionally as well). As usual, I open all the threads I want to read in new tabs which usually is around 6. However, 80% of the time, all of the pages crashes but not the browser itself. I have to restart the browser or shut down all the tabs for this issue to solve itself but it's really, really annoying. I'm on Mac OS X running Chrome 12. Anyone know what might be wrong? I love Chrome but if I can't fix this, I'll have to switch to another browser which I don't want.
Maybe you're running out of memory?
Check that it is up to date. On the top bar (Not sure what it's called) click help, then click About Google Chrome. On the new window, it will tell you whether its updated or if it needs to be updated at the bottom
It's up to date. And it's not running out of memory - I have 4GB and no applications running.
When you're opening that many tabs in Chrome it's possible that it's running out of memory.
Opened tons of Facepunch-tabs again to check the memory. 696MB inactive and 1.25GB free. Running iTunes and Skype at the same time.
Then I don't know what to tell you, sorry. :(
