Laptop becoming extremely hot as soon as I turn it on

My laptop's temperature has risen significantly since yesterday, it would become extremely hot as soon as I turn it on. My laptop doesn't usually get this hot, and when it does, it would only happen when I'm gaming. But, now it would get this hot even when I'm not doing anything. I'm not quite sure what the problem is, I've had a few cases in the past where my laptop has overheated and I've only had this laptop for about 7 - 8 months. I'm planning on buying a cooling pad for my laptop soon.

What's the best way to clean out the dust? Would I need to open up the base of the laptop?
