CPU: i7 920
Cooler: Hyper TX3 Evo
Motherboard: Asus Rampage II Gene
Case: Fractal Core 1300
RAM: Kingston 2x4gb DDR3-1333 at 1.50v
GPU: Asus GTX 770
PSU: Corsair VS650
HDD: generic 500gb harddrive
etc: some old dvd pata drive
I've built it and when starting up it doesn't post at all nor beep and the fans do start up though.
I tried to:
- Switch the ram sticks to different ram slots
- Run it with only one ram
- Use a different graphics card
- Use a different power supply
- Run it without the dvd drive
- Use asus's memfix (all it did was flash a red light)
- Rewire the front panel
but nothing worked, i'm assuming some part is dead but i have no idea which one.
Any bent pins on the CPU socket? That was an issue I just had.
Did you use motherboard standoffs?
does it beep with no RAM or can you get to bios with no RAM?
I decided to remove the cpu and refit it (no bent pins) and i removed the memory sticks at the same time. It beeped the error message for no memory and then i decided to re-add the sticks and it posted.
Thanks for your help.

Any particular reason why your CPU is hotter than everything else?
