So I got this thing a few years ago, and it has this thing on the hinge... [img_thumb]http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/2600/sany0047c.jpg[/img_thumb] It always had that, but I don't know if removing my lump will fix my next problem... [img_thumb]http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/3729/sany0040a.jpg[/img_thumb] The screen is white all the time, the only time it's not is when I am booting. It used to let me control the brightness, but now it won't let me at all! It then says it supports really high resolutions and loses all it's power management abilities. When I plug an external monitor into it via a DVI to VGA converter I can only use 800x600 or 640x480. The loading speed of programs and everything used to be snappy prior to this, but they just start bouncing on the dock for around 30 seconds now. Yes, I have reinstalled 3 times. [img_thumb]http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/5485/sany0046z.jpg[/img_thumb] Specs: 1.42 GHz PPC G4 512mb RAM 60 Gigabyte hard drive ATI Radeon 9550 14 inch model [img_thumb]http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/9745/sany0048i.jpg[/img_thumb] I also apologize for the large images. I only want this working again for the "cool" factor it gave me, watch movies, Photoshop CS, and Maya.

I think the video card is dying. The exact same thing happened to my Mac Mini. I am sorry for your loss.
I fixed the brightness, graphics card, and the power management. How? I pushed the ribbon behind the screen a bit. I could not get the static sheet back on, sadly. Now I have this nice illuminating effect from it.:smug: [img_thumb]http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/7414/sany0051.jpg[/img_thumb] FINAL CUT STUDIO HERE I COME.
Wow. That's... Really bright. Good for you for fixing it! :D
