I'm thinking about buying a ATI 4870. As most of you may already this requires 2 x 6 pin connectors. Unfortunately, my PSU doesn't have any, however, there is a cable (in the link below) which enables 1 6 pin connector.

I was wondering if those 2 LP4 connectors have to be connected to the molex's in order to work or does only 1 have to be? Hopefully just the 1 because i've only got 2 molex's.
No 6 pin connector and only 2 Molex? I'd say you need a new PSU first. Your current one almost certainly isn't powerful enough to run a 4870.
The power supply is a 620 watt.

Cheap no-name PSUs like that one tend to blow up if you push them even a little. Probably why they give you so few connectors.

As some other people have said, if a PSU doesn't have power connectors, it isn't going to run a card that needs them.

Get something like this it's expensive, but saves energy, is silent, and cold, even though I have a higher wattage antec, this shouldn't be MUCH different in said terms.
