I'm trying to replace the default explorer.exe with my own, modified one. I can't rename/move/delete the original because it says I need permission. I am an administrator, as well as the only user of this PC. How do I grant myself full access to my stuff? I'm on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, if that makes any difference.
You have to end the explorer process and replace it with the command prompt.
I finally managed to replace the thing, by using some weird ass thing to take ownership of the file. Surely I should just have ownership anyway?

I see... It just seems a lot more restrictive than XP, and I never had problems with that O-o Oh well.

Doesn't mean I ever had any problems :/ Whatever, thread can be closed now.

Thanks, Facepunch's programming community, thanks for trying to turn my thread into a petty argument about XP and Win7. This thread is hereby unsubscribed and ignored by me.
