Wormhole Generator? I knew that MGS was pretty crazy, but I never knew they had wormholes.

I'm surprised there's anyone in the Konami building still working on this game Does anyone even give a shit anymore?
an update that will probably add another microtransaction for konami to milk the dead corpse that is metal gear
I honestly don't see the point of using Ocelot. Doing anything but stealthing your way through an FOB makes it infinitely harder, and opens up anywhere from one to 50 people to infinitely assrape your base with a Hail MGR and Grade 10 Battledress for getting caught thanks to the fair and balanced mechanic of indirect retaliations.
So they just retroactively ported his character from MGO? It's pretty much something you could already do with mods so it's not surprising--Talk about half baked. [editline]30th July 2017[/editline] Shit it looks like it still uses Snake's animations and everything.
ocelot uses the same pose snake uses on the mission preparation screen

So since I dont give one shit about the fobs will we be able to use ocelot in the regular single player missions?
So since I dont give one shit about the fobs will we be able to use ocelot in the regular single player missions?
Seems like an FOB exclusive thing. If modders still give any significant amount of a shit about the game though, it wouldn't be surprising to see someone unlock Ocelot from the FOB for use in normal play. I still don't get how they botched FOBs so hard to the point that it's one of the least fun Metal Gear experiences i've ever had, and any amount of screw up whatsoever (you can't even be faintly noticed or tranq anyone without soft-alerting the base owner) basically results in a defender being able to come in and rain death on your head with no consequence whatsoever. Plus all the damn cheaters with invulnerability and stun/sleep-recover macros that let them get back up in a second. And the game goes out of its way to try to make you go online, to make you create an FOB to the point of pretty much no optional choice in the matter unless you absolutely and adamantly stay offline, in an attempt to hook you up to shit that can end up losing you resources and getting people you recruited stolen or outright killed. It's.. it's not good game design. At all. But Konami pretty much abandoned this game for all but FOBs.
I still don't get how they botched FOBs so hard to the point that it's one of the least fun Metal Gear experiences i've ever had
I suppose thats what happens when you purposefully antagonize the team and force them to release an unfinished product :v:
This game should have had co-op like Peace Walker and unlockable characters from throughout the series like Portable Ops. Big Boss, Solid Snake, Liquid, and Solidus running around Afghanistan like a bunch of jackasses would have been infinitely more fun than the FOB nonsense.
I'm still salty that this game was released half finished. Like Liquid and the kids escape with a fucking mech and then are never heard of again, talk about a major plot hole. I know there's an unfinished video mission about it but it ain't the same.
There's nothing definitive that the game was ever half finished. It's half finished according to fans because it does feel half finished, but no one on KojiPro has ever stated what had to be cut, what was intentional, and if the game really was ever cut short; That /v/ leak doesn't count. It had been stated that the cut arc was actually written out of the story earlier in development, and there's some rare concept art floating around of a Chico character using PO "Null" comparisons, and renderings for an unused nightmarish take on the hospital scenario (which COULD explain why you play the exact same opening two times if they originally had the idea to do a hellish opening where Snake is hallucinating gore and mutilated figures and bodies at first with the "Truth" mission showing it as it really was), but people found references to seven missions left in the game to "Episode 51" Those references point to the Kingdom of the Flies missions actually being prerequisites for triggering the Truth ending, like the Paz tapes, but that implies it would have taken place before the Truth mission, not after.
A lot of the unfinished nature of it isnt directly stated but more looking at how Kojima's done his prior games, looking at what happened with this game, seeing what we know is missing, and making conclusions based off that and the implication of what else had to be cut and never happened due to the rushed development. Chapter 2, for example, i get the very distinct impression it was not supposed to be just repeated missions, but ended up as such because they didnt have the time, base customization, Battle Gear, etc. [editline]31st July 2017[/editline] At the end of the day, unless say Kojima came out and told everything, which he wont do, we'll never actually know.
Like there's no question they probably had to cut and simplify a lot of shit but it's clear that the game was already in its final state by the time they started editing trailers for it.
Well they were working on the Fox Engine for a fucking long time so i honestly dont know. Like Ground Zeroes had trailers back in 2012 that looked like the final game.
There's also the novelist mentioning that the story was rewritten at one point; originally there was no body double, people were playing the real Big Boss, the story was told from Huey's perspective placing him on a pedestal and making all of his actions seem justified in the face of what Diamond Dogs was doing, and there was no Cypher bullshit, Diamond Dogs was waging war on America by waging war with Zero.
Yeah sounds about right, i remember files in GZ being uncovered mentioning American and Soviet locations.
I suppose thats what happens when you purposefully antagonize the team and force them to release an unfinished product :v:
I wander if playing Ocelot was planned originally [editline]1st August 2017[/editline] like fuck why not release content you didn't work on
-text-
That's why I dolphin dive my way to victory, majority of time I can reach the main core in 2-3 minutes, more than enough time to finish even with a soft-alert to the FOB owner. [editline]1st August 2017[/editline]
I wander if playing Ocelot was planned originally [editline]1st August 2017[/editline] like fuck why not release content you didn't work on
Look on the bright side, singleplayer got an update, while multiplayer is still missing like 4 (presumably MB coin) items to customize your mgo character, so singleplayer is more alive than it's MP counterpart :V
just stuff for that shitty mode and you disabled my mods? eck. why no warning or tag for the spoiler posts? one of them was not amusing to stumble across
I suppose thats what happens when you purposefully antagonize the team and force them to release an unfinished product :v:
To be fair FOB designs are fundamentally flawed. MGSV's gameplay/camera doesn't work well in vertical spaces with lots of unseen angles and corners that guards can spring from.
just stuff for that shitty mode and you disabled my mods? eck. why no warning or tag for the spoiler posts? one of them was not amusing to stumble across
While I personally spoiler-tag everything, you really shouldn't assume everyone else is going to. Unless the game's just come out, it's a good idea to finish the game before looking through conversations between a bunch of other people who've already finished it and are talking about it. [editline]a[/editline] Like if this was just the standard MGS discussion thread and you were playing MGS1 for the first time I wouldn't try and stop you from going into the thread, but this is a thread about MGSV specifically, so you're pretty much guaranteed to see people talking about MGSV.
Sorry, but where did you get all this info about cut content? Kinda interesting to read more.

I like to lurk through too much shit, with some of them being a bad idea. I don't know wtf is behind what I read and it seems like something that shouldn't even be a part of the plot, so I'm cool with it now. I'll get back to playing this fun game. EDIT: I should clarify that I only saw one bit of it. Definitely going for that ending when I can.
