• I have the opportunity to get a droid. But should I? (ITT: I consult fp)

Alright. My mom is due for a phone upgrade next month. She is thinking of getting the droid by motorola (I think that's who puts it out). When she buys one, she gets how ever many free under contract. The only thing is you need a data plan for an extra 30 bucks a month, making the total bill 40 dollars per line. Now, If I got this droid phone, I would have unlimited text, enough minutes for myself, and unlimited web, and I would be paying 30 bucks a month. I only make 2600 a year, 1300 of that going to car insurannce, leaving 1300 for me. so would the droid be worth the 360 a year, or should I just get the same phone I have now (env2), and use it as a wireless router for my ipod for only 10 dollars for the dataplan? Carrier is verizon if it matters.
Are you find with the phone you already have? [editline]04:26PM[/editline] I meant fine.
Considering money is so tight, I would just stick with the env2. You'll be happy you did, when you want that money to spend on other things.
I'd stick with the phone you have personally.
Yeah, you don't need to add to what you spend each year. Don't get it.
Oh so it's not worth it on such a tight budget I see. Thanks for the input. I guess I can always get it in the future if my budget allows.
HAHA dang OP, if you never added your little budget info, we probably would of said go for it. Anyways, good money management.
Well uh. Does anyone know of a good tutorial for how to use an ENV2 as a wireless modem since I am being forced to get the unlimited internet thing? And maybe a way so I don't have to pay 60 bucks a month for it? (Verizon's plan changed and apparantly I have to have the internet put on my line.)
if you gotta get the data plan anyway you may as well upgrade
if you gotta get the data plan anyway you may as well upgrade
That thought has been in the back of my mind. I suppose I would use it on the droid phone as opposed to the env2. Eh. I will probably end up getting it as I don't really mind paying 20 or 30 bucks a month for it really, it's more or less of whether it's worth the money.
What about the newer members of the Droid lineup?
I have to get what my mom gets (as she gets as many phones as she wants free after paying for one, and doing the contract shit), and she was looking at the droid since it's a good phone and cheap. She doesn't know for sure what exactly she's getting but she is leaning heavily toward this one.
