• Will youtube take my 15:20 min long video?

I saw that the limit is now 15 min, but I have a 15:20 long vid. I once saw a vid that was (when the limit still was 10 min) 10:50 minutes long, so I wonder if the same applies for 15m limit.
Yeah, they're pretty generous with the limit. It should be fine.
Great, thank you.
I'd say they'd have a bit of leeway. I'm not sure, but aren't the Videos that are like an hour long hosted somewhere else?
I'd say they'd have a bit of leeway. There is definitely some leeway, and if you want an example of a long video: Doesn't say anything about them having a special type of channel though.
Hmm weird
You can contact YouTube and ask for a limit extension.
That's because some people set their account to director before this choice was removed, and those who did can still upload very long videos.
They also might be a YouTube partner, which I believe can upload videos longer than normal users.
They also might be a YouTube partner, which I believe can upload videos longer than normal users.
Then can.
Oh wait, never mind. Got my question answered. Should have lurked more. That being said, you might be able to get away with it if Youtube gives you some leeway.
you can go into the video(if it's .wav) and change some variable that fools the uploader into letting you upload any length.

Like one of those channels where you get paid ad revenue and stuff too, something like that. Probably just a populated channel so people don't join just to upload hour long videos. I'm sure YouTube probably hand picks or has a computer to check how many subscribers you have, video views, stuff like that, to see how long your video can be. Like maybe a new channel can upload 15:00, but maybe someone with 100 subscribers and 10,000 channel views, could maybe still it only say 15:00, but maybe do 20:00. That's probably very, very incorrect, but it's just a guess of mine.
You can only upload a Youtube video that's over the given time limit if you are a partner or if your account is before 2007
LOL my status is: director. 78 minute extension of Trol'lol here I come!
You can't, dummy, I just said that it only works on pre-2007 accounts

I'm 2007 and it doesn't work for me.
No just 2006 and lower. I'm 2007 and it doesn't work for me.
It means the same thing
It means the same thing
Either or whoever joined before google took over can upload long ass videos without being a partner
You can only upload a Youtube video that's over the given time limit if you are a partner or if your account is before 2007
Yeah, if you registered for a Director's account before 2007 you have no time limit and 20GB size limit. I uploaded a 7 hour video a year ago.
Anton just to share your genius with FP, I got this.
That movie isn't 7 hours though, I have some other long videos that I'm pretty sure are about 7 hours long but the meter only goes to about 5 hours and then it continues playing after the video is "over". I can't find it though as the sorting function in "My Uploaded Videos" is broken. This one is 6 hours 47 minutes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWrY0Z8SQy0 About a second after the video page loads, it changes the length to 2 hours 8 minutes.

I was limited to have a list of 650 favourites, but since I got a total of 100'000 video views the limit was removed. It could be mere coincidence, though.
