• SteelSeries Siberia V2 problems..?

Yesterday, I updated my pc with new keyboard, harddisk, mouse and a new pair of earphones. It's the special edition for Siberia V2 that looks like this. The headset uses minijacks to connect and not USB. I sounded great at first, but this changed. I was about to join someone in a skype chat, but they couldn't hear me. Oddly enough, My mic didn't give any reaction when I blew into the mic. Then I found NO Drivers for this product and only updates for the USB version. For a few hours I tried to fix this and I ended up in a even bigger mess. I got my mic to work (very quiet though) but then all of the sudden, when I enabled the Mic my headphones stopped to play sounds. The weird thing is that it still shows that there is sound, but I don't hear shit. Then disabling my mic and restarting led me back to sounds. So, Now I'm totally exhausted. Everything I tried to leads my nowhere. So facepunch, I once again need your help. Question me if you want to know more specific stuff. I'm begging for help. (Also, If someone has, please send me the newest Siberia V2 driver to Minijacks. I only find USB...)
A headset that uses minijacks will not have drivers as there is nothing the computer can control. Instead, they rely on your PC's soundcard to produce the audio. Did you make any changes to the audio settings or devices on your system when it first stopped working? How are you enabling and disabling the microphone? Do you use speakers in addition to the headset or is the headset always attached? I would first make sure none of the jacks have come loose and are inserted correctly (if there are multiple options). If that did not solve it, then check for any updates to or reinstall your soundcard drivers. Though, from what you described, I'd say it would be more of a sound card issue.

I don't have soundcard, except the sound card on my motherboard. It stayed that way, even before I tried to fix it. I came to the resolution that I need to get and USB connector which is stupid. Isn't there anyway to fix it without USB connectors?

I assumed your description of 'minijack' is the same as the 3.5mm jacks that are just about universal to anything audio. so, if this is a usb to audio jack adapter, then that sounds like you are now using an external sound card. if that is the case, and it now works, then that pretty much cements the issue as being with your built in sound card. i would still suggest reinstalling the built in sound card drivers if you wish to have the headset work with it.

Remove all audio related programs from your pc. (USe drivesweeper or something). Then download new drivers from the manifacturer of your pc or if its homebuilt the mobo's manifacturer. Instal these and stay away from the steel series drivers. (or those headphones in general but thats my opinion) The steel series drivers are only for their own soundcards.
