Seems interesting, but theres something about top down games w/ guns that bother me. Can't quite put my finger on it. Swords and magic work well from a top down perspective while guns do not.

They've worked fine since '79
Anybody notice a massive resurgence of cyberpunk / 80's style games lately? It's getting kind of strange.

I like it, It's a nice counter balance to the games that try to be as close to life as possible.

it's not inherently a bad thing but that's a lame excuse way to put it. I feel pretty insulted after reading about a 'cyberpunk RPG inspired by Diablo, Borderlands and Hotline Miami' only to find out it looks like a modder's attempt at a 3d hotline miami clone.
doesn't help that the video is 75% footage of someone getting overwhelmingly melted by NPCs over and over
Why did I just watch several crappy shaky camera moves through a badly modeled city and watch an elevator go up and then down 5 times

$15,000 went down the drain, eh?
What exactly is cyberpunk about this? Cyberpunk isn't just an electronic soundtrack and neon lights. Does is have any kind of social or political commentary about technology and how it affects humanity, or is it just using "Cyberpunk" as a cheap aesthetic for a generic top down shooter?
The visuals are pretty, I'll give it that, but the gameplay in the trailer is as bog-standard as top down shooters get. I won't write the game off because the developers at least seem to be trying, but saying you want to tell a cyberpunk story and actually doing it are different things. Also "Entropolis"? Seriously? It's a little on the nose, sounds more like the mid-90s rip off crap I grew up with, though naming things can be hard so they can have a pass for that.
Yeah it is a bit of a sensationalist attitude the way they all refer to anything remotely retro or 80's as being cyberpunk.

I want to see more cyberpunk games, I love the style and atmosphere.
I want to see more Cyberpunk games that aren't top-down/isometric shooters or turn based games. And one of the few likes that I'm aware of Cyberpunk 2077 from CDPR. And after Witcher 3, I have very high hopes for Cyberpunk 2077.
jesus christ WAY too much screenshake
also this feels more 80s than cyberpunk
Seems like an attempt at cashing in on the aesthetic rather than an effort by people inspired by proper cyberpunk/synthwave/80s revival/whateveryouwannacallit fans. In fact, the stuff they namedrop is incredibly mainstream.
It looks bland. And gameplay wise it seems to go through the usual "greenlight bait" checklist: trendy setting, name-dropping a zillion things you're "inspired" by, ~PROCEDURAL~ bs, etc. They're also spreading themselves thin, 12 skill trees for a game that doesn't seem like it'd NEED to have RPG elements?
That said, it looks like a full game, which is much more than you can expect from Steam nowadays, it seems like it'd be worth a shot as a completed release.
Art's a little basic. Not digging it.

I'd rather see a few good ones as opposed to a couple dozen of games that carry the label.

I wanna see more cyberpunk games by people who've actually read a book in their life.
Cyberpunk/neon is the new pixel art.
This looks really shit to me. It's just neon color glow and generic looking gameplay. Doesn't look like what I'd expect an ARPG to look like.
Cyberpunk is fucking badass though and basically demands incredible detail to be good, so I am not complaining.
can we not with all the top down shit?

If it has advanced technology and hacking then it's cyberpunk
If it has gears and leather then it's steampunk
Game journalism :downs:
It'd be funny if this neo 80's fad wears off to the point where it's as dorky and out of vogue as everything from the actual 80's.
I just want my gritty cyberpunk and Sci-fi.
None of this nancy pancy neon lights bullshit.
