• How can I stop LCD screen burn?

Okay so in the past couple of weeks i've noticed that shit is starting to burn into my monitor. This includes game interfaces, the facepunch logo and sometimes even my own desktop icons if i'm away for 5 minutes. I tried letting my monitor cool down for about 2 days by not using it & did other stuff. Still had the same problem. Tried this http://www.jscreenfix.com/ but it still doesn't really help as much as I want. Anyone got a solution to screen burn & stop it happening completely?
I didnt think LCDs had permanent burn in
Only possible on a plasma screen. [editline]28th October 2010[/editline] You sure it's not your eyes?
LCD don't suffer from burn-in.
Older LCDs can get burn-ins.
Older LCDs can get burn-ins.
This. I think. I've seen it happen before but not in a long time, sometimes my monitor stays on for 2-3 days constant (not intentionally) and it comes out okay. I'm pretty sure if it's burned in it's permanent though.
Get a new monitor if it bothers you. What one do you have currently?
I didnt think LCDs had permanent burn in
Actually, they do display a nature of burn-ins (like in the plasma, OLED, and CRT displays). The best bet was to keep it on a pure white screen for a few hours to "erase" the memory in the LCD panel. Active matrix in my opinion, brings on more screen burn than what is expected. I really suggest reading up on Active and Passive matrix LCD for a full understanding between the two. Don't forget to mention the longetivity and memory ability of LEDs.
