I need help concerning my MacBook Pro.
I've had it for nearly a year, and all the games I've run on it have worked smoothly. Minecraft, all my Source games, even CoD4. Recently however, all of these have started stuttering heavily with 2-5 seconds interval. I've checked for software updates, but to no avail.
Suggestions are welcome.
Run Disk Utility. Click on the first entry on the left and make sure your SMART status is verified. Then click on Mac HD on the left (second entry) and "verify disk" on the bottom right. Don't bother with disk permissions.
Tried verifying, it says everything's A-ok. SMART is verified as well. Entire comp runs smoothly, all games stutter like ass.
Might run a defrag when I get the time, see if that helps.
Take a look in Activity Monitor for free memory, perhaps something is chewing more RAM that expected?

Activity Monitor looks fine to me.
Woo! I managed to fix the problem without breaking anything else. Thanks for your help Wally. :v:
To anyone having similar problems; Try booting in safe mode (Hold 'Shift' on start-up) then turn it off, and then clear your PRAM (Hold 'Cmd'+'fn'+'p'+'r' on start-up). That did the trick for me.
I don't know what kind of black magic this PRAM thing is, but it is the only thing that you always hear and that always works for small problems =/^^
