I've been wanting to get a good cheap processor for my computer, which one is better, an AMD Phenom II x4 955 3.2 ghz quad, or a intel core 2 quad 2.4
I've got a geforce 220, but im not planning on changing it
the phenom is better. if you plan on keeping that gt220 you're going to cry if you try to play any new games, just sayin.
AMD is generally better when it comes to budget but their higher end stuff is shit compared to Intel's higher end stuff
AMD if your on a really cheap budget but Intels i5 2500k is also very powerful for its price. it also depends on your current hardware
With games you aren't going to see a difference between the two. The Intel has a higher cache though, but thats only useful if your doing motion graphics/video editing.
If you wanna go Intel, check out the i5 series, though it might be over your budget. Otherwise Phenom 2 is a better choice, the Core 2 series is quite outdated by now.
It fully depends what you are using it for and how much cash you have. I have a six core for my computer as it games fine and allows enough computing power for my vm's to run
An i3 2100 is a better choice than a 955 if you plan to play games
now im planning on getting a geforce 450 and 8gigs of ram. This any good?

Get 4GB or stay with 4GB if it is just for gaming and I don't think the 450 is a whole lot better than the 250.

Its a lot better than the 220, and olny $100
The 450 isn't a good card
The HD5770 still has its place though

You can't overclock a 2100
