I have a WD caviar black 1TB HDD and I've had it for a few months now, it's been working great but just today it keeps giving me these messages saying windows detected a problem and that I should back up my data. What could cause this? Would this be worth an RMA?
I would suggest you backup your data then run a chkdisk on it and see if it clears any errors.
chkdsk ran and pc rebooted, got the error again

See if you can find any more information in event viewer about what windows thinks is wrong with the disk
You could try using the western digital diagnostics program http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=613&sid=3&lang=en
Run the SMART tests and post the results, you will probably have to RMA
I have some important shit on here and I don't have any other storage devices, nor can I afford to purchase any storage devices. What should I do?

There's something wrong with my reallocated sector count. Thankfully, that's under warranty.
Well, if you REALLY want your files to stay safe, I would stop using the computer until you have the money for a new hard drive, when you have a new one, insert it in your system, disconnect the SATA cable of your current one, install OS on your new one, after everythings setup re-connect the old one after a system reboot, simply swap everything you need over.
I can't afford a new HDD :c

This is definitely going to see an RMA though
I guess depending on how much data you need to store you can just upload it somewhere then download it when you have a new hard drive
It's probably uploadable. There's a folder of images and videos, a huge folder of text files, my music collection and a long guide I'm working on.

It would take an inhumane amount of time to upload though lmao
You could ask a friend if you could borrow an external hard drive.
I'd be more than happy to lend one to a mate in this situation.
