Hey there.
I am trying to set up a new wireless router in my house. It is a Netgear WPN824 that I have used before and know for a fact that it works. But I want to connect it using a Belkin Wireless router not a Modem (Oh and if this seems confusing at all I have a picture at the bottom of the post that should help). So what I have now is the Netgear one sitting in my room with an ethernet cord from the Belkin router attached to it's "Internet IN" port and another ethernet cord going from one of the Netgear's "Internet OUT" ports to my Xbox 360. After I have reset all modems and routers I looked at the Netgear's status and it only had the power light on. No internet on the 360 and no wireless broadcasting. Can you help me facepunch?

BREAKING NEWS:
The [I] Symbol meaning internet on the router lit up but it still doesn't do shit.
Bump D:
Stroke your router.

also I don't see why not, but it would be pretty redundant.

Cause its a dick. :lol::lol::lol:
Seriously though. I think if you just get a splitter and have it go to both that might work too.
Disable dchp on your new router.
What possible purpose would two wireless routers serve?

Well disable DCHP on the secondary router, and it's a switch/accesspoint combo.
Plus, linksys wrt54g routers are decent with aftermarket DD-WRT firmware.
I googled how to disable dchp and could do that easily, but how am I supposed to do it to the router? Do I have to plug the router into my PC or something or am I good just disabling it from my PC that connects to the belkin router?
It doesn't matter, as long as you can connect to it somehow.
I can connect to the Belkin router and disabled it on that and nothing happened.
You have to disable DHCP and name the router and WEP key (if you have one) to w/e the main router is.
Why?
Cables are cheaper, more reliable and faster than a wireless router.
Get them.
Set the Belkin to a different IP range.
BREAKING FUCKING NEWS!!!!
It is now supporting outgoing ethernet (my xbox is connecting to it and the (1) Symbol is lit up), a lot of the things everyone is posting is "Wi teh fuk wuld u do tat lol" and it's because I need a boosted wireless signal in my room for my wireless pc and psp. I would also love to use ethernet, but I am picky and like my room with no wires. I was reading the instruction book to the Netgear router and it said I might have to pug it into my pc to activate wireless or some shit. Does that sound right to you guys?
Why did you get a new router? Why not just a switch?

That is an absolutely horrible reason to run two wireless routers on the same network. There are easier and cheaper ways to go about this.

I had an extra one from 2 years ago that I wasn't using and decided to try it so if you have a better idea feel free to tell.

A wireless repeater. In fact, couldn't two wireless routers cause interference and actually degrade signal quality?

Not as long as you set them to run on different channels, no.
