Just wondering if all the stuff I've picked is compatible with each other. Also feel free to suggest better parts (that are close to the price please (I'm cheap)) 1 [del]Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147153[/del] Changed 1 [del]Mobo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130571[/del] Out of Stock 1 [del]CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115076[/del] Changed 1 [del]PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371045[/del] Changed 2 [del]PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152036[/del] Changed 3 [del]RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148149 (x2)[/del] Changed PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139019 Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233 Mobo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130583 CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072 RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820144461 CPU Fan - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118019 To be purchased later I'll be swapping out my current HDDs, DVD Drive and GPU (Nvidia 250gts 512mb (which I'll probably change at a later date)) Thanks for your time.
Go for half of the ram, buy a 2 stick pack for 4 gigs. Go for a HAF 912 for the case, and get an i5 2500k if possible at your budget. Also, the psu is really a bit low power. I cant suggest any more than that as I'm not familiar with newegg.
Ah thank you, I took one stick off from Ram, kinda like to have more than 4GB especially since GMod is a memory hog whenever I play it, just nice to have. Thanks for telling me about the PSU too, should've looked more into that. Took Memory down from 4x2gb to 3x2gb Changed to the HAF 912 case Changed CPU to i5 2500k Changed PSU to RaidMax w/ 730w PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152036 Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233 CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072 [del]Also, haven't been on FP forever, is there still (or was there ever) the [cross] [/cross] so it like crosses out your text or whatever, if it's still here what is it? Thanks[/del] Nevermind Found it :v:
Nah, 4GB should be enough if you're just playing Gmod or whatever. Right now, I've got Lighroom, firefox, and some other stuff open and I'm barely hitting 2GB, and both of those are definitely memory hogs. As long as you don't have to have every single thing up at once, you should be good with 4GB. Also, I'd probably get something like this for the PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139019 I haven't really heard much about Raidmax PSU's; but I have a Corsair 650TX and I've had absolutely no problems with it, and most reviews seem to say the same over the long-term. I doubt that the Raidmax would be that bad considering you won't be pushing 730W with that set up, but sometimes cheap PSUs don't always reliably perform at their rated wattage and realistic temperatures. In about a month I'll be building a computer for a friend, and I've got the CX500 in my cart now. It's probably not the best PSU out there, but my 650TX has worked really well and the CX seems to get decent reviews and they're probably the best in that price range.
Okay changed, Thanks again guys for the suggestions and explanations, Much appreciated. [editline]26th March 2011[/editline] Found a diffent Case, basically the same, just slightly nicer and had 1x120mm and 2x200mm fans instead of just 2x120mm fans presintalled. Also, motherboard just went out of stock, went to slightly different version for mobo, unless it comes back in stock whenever I place this order. It's also twice as much, do you have a budget?
I think that $650 (at $627) is as high as I wanna go. Case is only $30 more though after rebate.
I think that $650 (at $627) is as high as I wanna go. Case is only $30 more though after rebate.
I'd still go for the 912, remember that although the 912 is the smallest of the family, it is still decently sized and is the newest, so probably the best.
Change your RAM to either this or this, depending on if you think $2 is worth heat distributors.
Okay, I could always install the fans later of course. Thanks for the find on the RAM aswell, probably didn't spend too long looking through (referring to me). Changed Case back. Changed Ram to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820144461
I think I'll remove the 3rd Party CPU fan since the CPU comes with one, I won't be doing any overclocking, at least not right now.
[del]Question, Whats the difference between Intel i5 Sandybridge 2500k and 2500. 2500k - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072 2500 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115073 [/del] Probably should've just googled that in the first place, wow that's kinda dumb, paying to have an overclockable CPU, well I guess i'll stick with K.
Biostar or MSI Motherboard? Biostar - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138298 MSI - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130583
From what I've heard, most Biostar boards aren't very good, but some people have said they also put out some good boards.. MSI boards are decent, go for the G43.
