• Good horror books?

I've asked about good horror movies before, but now I'm asking about books instead. Anything goes, from the supernatural and (post)apocalyptic to splatter. I just want the book to intrigue me and suck me in. Metro 2033 is out of the question as I more or less know that book inside out already lol :v: So is The Shining, naturally. Thanks in advance!
Clive Barker's Books of Blood are several short horror stories worth looking into. This is the Stealth Press edition which contains all the stories. I have this version, it's out of print so it's pricy but worth it. https://www.realclivebarker.com/product/books-of-blood/ Pretty much anything by H.P. Lovecraft.
IT is great but really damn long. Salems Lot, The Shining, I'm a huge Stephen King fan so i'll probably go on all day but Salems Lot is my favorite.
Pretty much anything by H.P. Lovecraft.
It should be said that Lovecraft's style ranged from a lot of things over his lifetime, but almost every genre he did pretty well. But don't read The Horror At Red Hook first. Anyway I recommend you look into Clarke Ashton Smith -- The Vaults of Yoh-Zombis is his most popular horror story I believe, and a good place to start.
The Stand
John Dies At The End, technically a black comedy but it's pretty fucking horrifying too.
The Autumn series by David Moody is by far my favourite. It's a post-apocalyptic zombie horror without unnecessary gore.
Goosebumps by RL Stine.
anything by Thomas Ligotti
Night Shift is one of my favourites for compilation of short stories.
house of leaves by Mark Danielewski is great
"Birdbox" by Josh Malerman was kinda interesting, though the ending may be a bit weak.
Why are you all submitting all this kiddie shit? This is where the real scares are at: [t]http://imgur.com/z09Le7Q.jpg[/t] [t]http://imgur.com/L0OkOEi.jpg[/t] [t]http://imgur.com/Ief1nV1.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/7oufKz1.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/cTopnng.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/sirkMNA.jpg[/t] In all seriousness, I should check out some of the books you've posted. [editline]13th March 2016[/editline] Fuck, late. Didn't see Zonesylvania.
Check out The Taking by Dean Koontz. I remember it being pretty damn creepy. I'd classify it as an apocalyptic novel.
Metro 2034? I didn't enjoy it as much as the first, but it's still a pretty good read.

Pet Sematary by Stephen King.

You can't go wrong with Stephen King. I'd recommend Duma Key, Bag of Bones, or any of his short story collections.
It's not exactly a horror novel, but The Hot Zone is a pretty damn spooky book.
Revival by Stephen King was pretty good. If you're in the mood for any of his short story collections, I'd go with Skeleton Crew.
You can't go wrong with Stephen King. A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemmingway. The book is so shitty that it is scary.
I am Legend is creepy, short read as well. I'd also reccomend a collection of Stephen Kings short stories. Some of them are so insane they're unnerving

Necronomicon by H.P Lovecraft. I was once told by a friend that you should read it during the daylight hours, just in case you get nightmares if you ever read it before bed :v:
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein Bram Stoker's Dracula Lovecraft's Re-Animator (Or as it's called; Herbert West, Re-Animator) Necroscope
The Conspiracy Against the Human Race by Thomas Ligotti legit nearly made me kill myself. That book isn't fiction, but the author does write fiction but I haven't dared read anything else by him.

Penpal was pretty good.

Also, is that the new Barnes and Noble collection? [editline]18th March 2016[/editline]
Necronomicon by H.P Lovecraft.
