I have a 750GB Hitachi Deskstar. There is a 250GB partition with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on, and the rest has Vista Home Premium x64. Is it possible to delete Vista and give all the space to Windows 7, making one partition. Is this possible without formatting the whole drive? Thanks in advance
Yeah just use start menu search for harddrive. Use the first option. I just did that to get rid of ubuntu.

Thanks in advance
Deleting previous windows installations: 1. Rename the Windows folder on the Vista Home Premium drive to Windows.old. 2. Right Click the drive->Properties->Disk Cleanup->Clean system files 3. Make sure Old Windows Installs is checked, then click ok to clean up the Windows installation on the drive. [editline]07:40PM[/editline] As for the Vista drive, is there programs and files and all that stuff on it?
Merging them can fuck up everything, you can shrink the other one though, that's less dangerous. Just google for some software...
Use mac. :D Mac can resize and delete partitions without reformatting the entire drive. Mac can also play all the games windows can with speed which i think is perfectly fine to play games with.
I've decided to just format the drive and install windows 7.
I've decided to just format the drive and install windows 7.
okay whatever

Will windows 7 have support for these devices I have: Internal card-reader + bluetooth plugged into a "FlexBay" slot AlienFX (Can control the colour of case lights) Kodak ESP-3 AiO Printer thanks
Go to run and type diskmgmt.msc Now right click on the Vista partion and click format and choose NTFS Now delete the Vista partition Right click on you Windows 7 partition and go to expand Follow the instructions Next time you restart it will do a disk check and everything should be fine but there is a very small chance that something could get fucked up

Windows 7 is great, on all my machines everything has worked perfectly straight away with no need to install drivers (apart from graphics card, but that goes without saying).

None of the Macintosh operating systems will work correctly on "regular" computers because Apple restricts the operating system to only install on their supported hardware. You are wrong again about it being able to play all the games Windows can. Don't even bring up boot camp because that's not Mac, it's Windows. I'm not sure what's up with Apple's false information campaign on TV, Magazines, and everywhere else... but it seems like every novice computer user believes it like it is a fact. They just want to rip on how "bad" Windows is and how many fixes there have been in Windows revisions. I wonder if anyone is going to call them out on the fact that pretty much all of the Mac OSes have had bugs and problems, which is why there are 6 revisions of OS-X alone, not to mention the 50+ other revisions of older Mac OSes. At least Microsoft doesn't make people pay for Service Packs like Apple does. For the record, I own a Windows 7 machine and I was given a Snow Leopard machine. I like them both, but use them for different things.

Seriously, the main reason why macs don't have a zillion viruses is because they unix fileystem doesn't allow file modification without a password (if a password is required for the file depending on perms.) For example, on windows you can delete the whole program files folder if you wanted and if you were on admin, however on a mac and on admin, if you tried to delete the applications folder, you would be prompted for your password.
