OK, so last month I got an Asus desktop "gaming" computer (prebuilt) for about $800. They got me with the processor and the RAM plus on the budget I had and the massive amount of negativity from my parents about building a computer (which looking back on it, would be better) I can tell where they cut corners the first second I opened Speccy for the first time.

OK, I can get over the Seagate(im on the bandwagon because of the stuff I have read on Facepunch), but a 5450 for a gaming computer I don't think will suffice for hardcore gaming.
tl;dr: Bad specs for a "gaming" computer. Want to know options on HDD and new graphics card.
Question
I am not sure if a 6000 series ATI would fit on my current motherboard but I was looking at the 6970 which seems like a lot right now but I would rather not switch cards again for another 2-3 years, not to mention I might not get this until my birthday.
Also how long do you say I will be with my HDD before it fails, from what I have read some people on facepunch lost theirs after a matter of months.
I can't see the image. :/

Also the RAM looks a bit slow to me.
Are you using onboard graphics?
TBH, I have not opened it. So I have no clue, there is a good chance it has a dedicated graphics card.
RAM is perfectly fine, remember it's DDR (Double Data Rate) so you need to double the clock Speccy displays.
Now, this thing should have a PCI-e x16 slot so any current graphic card will fit in it. You'll need a new PSU though because pre-builts almost always come with 350w PSUs.
Oh and random rating, my trackpad went berserk for a second...
Bestbuy said it had a 650-700w PSU, I asked them about a 5770 and they said it would work.
Open it up and check. I wouldn't trust Bestbuy employees.
They're the guys who sold my friend a computer with a 9800GTX+, a 400w PSU and a tiny m-ATX case...
I wouldn't trust Bestbuy employees if my life DEPENDED on it
They told me i needed a 1000 watt PSU when i only needed at most a 600 watt - i ended up with a 750 watt psu as it was the oly one i could find - spent 126.45 on it - yeah never will i go there EVER - I'v asked for NO MORE GIFT CARDS
I guess that's how they nickle and dime you, to be honest I was wondering if this could be true $800 for an upper middle class computer. Also, I am really not allowed to open it last time I opened my Dell Dimension 8200 it never came back. This thing also sounds like a hive of angry bees.

I had this too. I disregarded my mother's opinions at the time and was incredibly happy with the PC I built which, in the end, worked out cheaper and superior to a pre-built.

I am running a 5770 on a 500w PSU.

Hell, anything is better than this shit card I have. I cannot play BFBC2 on medium without a lot of lag.
