How fucking stupid do you have to be to discharge a loaded weapon pointed at soneone else? Common sense out of the window.
Wasn't this reported on months ago?
Wasn't this reported on months ago?
That was when it actually happened, this is her actually getting sentanced for manslaughter.
Yeah... definitely Darwin Award material.
Serve a 180-day jail term. This will be an alternating 10 days in jail and 10 days out for the first six months, amounting to 90 days behind bars. The remaining 90 days can be served in home confinement. The jail time can be served in South Dakota, where she now lives
never seen a term so bizarre as this one
6 months is a fair sentence. i'm sure she feels like shit about taking a life, even though it was a brain dead stupid thing to do.
Could have tried doing it on the floor instead, or the backyard, before testing the theory of a book stopping the bullet pieces from hitting a person. Only Superman blocks bullets with his body, or Luke Cage, unless they're modified to expand/explode upon breaching his skin.
Seems fair to me, It was a consensual act and amounts to what is essentially an accident. Should get a harsher sentence just for being so stupid, though
They're both morons but jailing her for longer won't really do much, it's not like she'll re-offend. She accidentally killed the father of her kid and unborn baby, she'll have to live with that when her kids ask her where their dad is.
For accidents like this, a better sentence would be a lifetime ban from firearms, not that she'll ever play with one again. Shame she learned the worst possible way that they're not toys.
On that day Perez fired a powerful Desert Eagle handgun from close range, as Ruiz held an encyclopaedia in front of his chest.
what did they think would happen??? a DESERT EAGLE!!!!
Except unfortunately these retards have already reproduced. Twice.
Isnt that gun designed for shooting through car engines, or is it just an urban legend
That's what I heard also It definitely isn't designed to be compact though
i'm no gun expert but it's a massive magnum and even the lowest caliber is going to leave huge holes in things
180 seems kinda light to me. I mean, she took a mans life. Sure, it was manslaughter and not murder, but I mean... I dunno, it just feels light. You'd get more for killing someone in a drunk-driving incident.
When you drink and drive and get someone killed, you've taken someone's life with an action that could've endangered anyone on the road. At least in this instance she had received consent from her boyfriend to fire the gun into his chest, even if it was a stupid decision.
Yeah, that's true I suppose.
I mean, she has two kids. They shouldn’t have to suffer years without their remaining parent. And the mother’s gonna be suffering enough with the guilt that she accidentally killed her boyfriend.
No lol. The Desert Eagle comes chambered in .357, .44, and .50 AE. People frequently confuse .50 AE for .50 Beowulf, a rifle round designed to disable car engines. Desert Eagles aren't really designed for any practical purpose, they're a vanity item.
He pranked his wife to kill him, the absolute madman
Fair setence imo
the greatest prank the devil ever pulled
It'd be pretty funny if she missed the book completely
He had experimented previously and thought the thick book would protect him, but the couple's three-year-old child and nearly 30 onlookers watched as she fired a fatal bullet. 30 onlookers and none of them thought this was a bad idea?
You mean the .50 BMG. A .50 Beowulf does not have enough power to do that.
.50 Beowulf will absolutely disable an engine.
Ruiz was pronounced dead at the scene at their home Given the context and assuming it happened at their home, yeah I would cause it's not like you're witnessing a murder in the streets. This was some guy holding up a 1.5 inch encyclopedia expecting it to stop a bullet
I remember when this happened. That really was a stupid idea.
