Should I wait until the GTX 300 series comes out before upgrading? - Hardware & Software

I have a 8800gt and would it just be better to wait for the GTX 300 series to come out or get a 5870 now?

just get 5870 unless you like 1.7% wooden screws

Get the 5870. It is plenty good and will me much cheaper

*model you should wait. When the 300s are out, all the other cards will be dirt cheap. (or at least cheaper).

Well personally I'm holding off with a 8800GTS 640mb till the GTX300 series. Depending on the price and the performance I'll then decide whether to get a 5870 or gtx300 series card.

Wait until the 300-series come out, they should be out by early December. Benchmarks (and hopefully, prices) will be out before that, so you'll be able to decide.
