I put the disc in, and the system says setup.exe isn't a valid system 32 application, and it will not boot from it either.. I bought more ram, and im running 4.5 gbs. But I need windows X64 installed, but my system wont read it. My system has a AMD phenom x3 x64. It works with x86, and I had x64 installed awhile ago but I lost the disc and had to get a new copy so I did. But my laptop read it fine. I tryed this disc in 3 machines, all failed.. Can anyone here help me?
Why don't you actually buy it?
What? I do have it from microsoft, its a a legal version not some internet rip.
you have to do it while windows is off. you obviously have x86 and are trying to install x64 through windows.
I even tried it while the system is rebooting.. It read, then it and just comes up with the XP loading screen. It will not read the disc.
are you sure your CD is the first thing on boot.
Oh wait... Yea, theres my problem.. I am famous when it comes to not remembering shit like that.. Thanks alot.. lol
