Well I need a new pair of headphones that have quite a high quality in sound, can handle loud music and low bass. They need to sound good with an iPod and Computer and have a decently long cord but not one thats overly long that I'd have to twisty tie. My price range is at most around 80$. If it matters what kind of music I listen to it's pretty wide so from indie to a pop like music. Also forgot to add: They need to be pretty comfortable and durable, and I would like to be able to buy them off Newegg
For that price you'd probably be stuck with Grade SR60s: http://www.amazon.com/Grado-Prestige-SR-60i-Padded-Headphones/dp/B0006DPMU4
You can get the Sennheiser HD555 on ebay for $80 or $90 with free shipping. They should satisfy your needs.
If it matters what kind of music I listen to it's pretty wide so from indie to a pop like music.
indie to pop isnt very wide at all, unless you count death metal as indie which most of it technically is
I'm not really into buying from eBay, and sorry about the music I figured it kind of was wide but I guess not
We need a "So you're looking for headphones" thread.
Waste money on razer barracuda's and fuck up your system because of drivers, then have the headphones die with no warranty or return OR Get the sennheiser's.
If you want top of the line quality, you can get yourself a pair of Grado SR80i headphones. They're way better than Bose, Sennheiser, or pretty much any other name brand company. They usually range around $100, but for used they're less. I'm pretty sure they have a lifetime guarantee, so used ones shouldn't be too bad. I highly recommend these. I think you haven't heard good sound until you've heard these, seriously, no matter what you might think.
The SR80i are better then the senns for sure.
Alright does anyone think that there'll be any deals on 'em tomorrow?

But it's certainly not going to beat even a Sennheiser HD595 or Audio-Technica ATH-AD500 which are cheaper mid-range. Grado SR80i's are a little above entry level when it comes to high-quality cans but they are a fantastic value headphone. Just no reason to get fanboyish over them.

Sennheiser HD280s are a bit more expensive but are the best thing that's ever happened to me (sound-wise). I've had them for 4 years, still awesome as fuck.
Well I'm not a large fan of Sennheisers all plastic build and I already have my mind set on the Sr80i's thanks to many reviews on Amazon.
I like my Seinnheiser HD202s. They have great bass response if that's what you want, and hell, for 20 bucks they're great.

Yeah, and the sound and lack of noise of the 280s is just awesome. :banjo:
We need a "So you're looking for headphones" thread.
We need a sticky thread with all the best brands of headsets, and reviews of each, rating, and specifications. That would be godly.
If you're in the market for something a bit pricier, I think they retail at about $130, get some Turtle Beach AK-R8s, they are beyond amazing, the sound quality is great and the software it comes with adds all sorts of setups and custom options. That and if you have any nice speakers you'd rather use for a bit, it uses an external soundcard that you can just plug speakers and other headphones/microphones into.
http://www.skullcandy.com/ For some intense bass I would recommend the Skullcrushers from Skullcandy. They have a built in sub-woofer powered by a single AA battery. Probably the best you will get for $70 anywhere.
I'm anything but musically inclined and even I know that skullcandy are immensely shit and aimed at 12 year olds who don't care what they get as long as it's looks related
Ehh, I'm anything but not musically inclined, and I find that they are more than enough.
Ehh, I'm anything but not musically inclined, and I find that they are more than enough.
Aha. Oh wow. As a furry analogy for you, calling Skullcandy high-end is like calling trout furry. [editline]07:43PM[/editline] Also to people who complain "lack of noise", it's due to the fact that you often need a good amp to drive something that sounds good.
like calling trout furry.
I lol'd
http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=sony+mdr+xd200&hl=en it's what i have, really good bass and that as long as you ignore the fact they have XD in their name i'm sure you'll get along just fine
Well I've already settled with the Sr80i's and I have had a pair Skull crushers before, not that great, especially for price and they're very cheaply made.
Can you guys really hear the difference in all these high-end headphones? I mean, a $15 headset-microphone sounds pretty much great to me. Well, until I fucked it up by dropping it and the left ear doesn't do anything. A dumb? Come on guys I was just asking.

I was saying for $70 they are more than enough for the casual listener. The OP asked for something decent in quality for the price with "loud music and low bass".

The camo looks hideous.
