Well ,one of my mom's friends gave me a unused Windows Xp Media Center Edition 2005 disc and key. I looked on ebay and it says I can sell it for 138$. So , is this to high?(Yes it is in good condition.)
Well it is the only way now to get it but it is completely out of support. It probably is not worth that much as it is just going to be cheaper to learn a few things to install linux and put boxee or xmbc on it if they just want a media center. Plus now that the home editions come with a media center anyways, well they would just go with vista or 7 if they want to use the computer for anything besides streaming. Just put the bidding at 100 and see where it goes. If it does not sell first time around, then you most likely wont get much luck from it.
I am upgrading to windows 7 and upgrading my computer with this money and the money I have already.
I say sell it for $50. I got a copy of XP from someone for $40 just recently.
$10, XP is useless and unsupported.
$10, XP is useless and unsupported.
Considering that XP is the latest version of Windows that runs on fairly archaic computers, I say, no. Its great for legacy systems since most software supports it.

Stupid people or people with old computers aren't going to want to fuck with linux
just tell them that all xp support ends in 997 days and that will freak them out.
just tell them that all xp support ends in 997 days and that will freak them out.
Moving to Linux would freak them out even more. "Where's the BLUE E!!" "Where's Word!!" I don't even think many people would even care if support for XP ended. Heck, these are probably the same people that still use IE 6 or 7.

That takes away all that stuff and makes it simpler.

And besides, XBMC works perfectly fine under Windows.
I have one too, infact quite alot of them scattered around, but most are long gone for years.
Heck, these are probably the same people that still use IE 6 or 7.
My dad... Also me when I'm on Windows 98 so I can play Grim Fandango or Sam and Max Hit the Road.
Wasn't this thread about the "Windows XP MCE sell price"? I must have misread "My OS is better then yours General".
$10, XP is useless and unsupported.
no it's not :(
