Sup. So, I've been using Avast! and Malwarebytes for a while now, and I just don't know about Avast anymore. I'm just wondering, does anyone know of a good antivirus that's better then Avast? Hopefully one that is free aswell.
To be honest, I would just stick with what you have right now. Avast has served me well for ages and I have had no problems with it. If I ever got too worried, I would use Malwarebytes just to be sure.
Microsoft security essentials works fine.
I run MSE and Malwarebytes If you know what you're doing then you really don't need anything more
Otherwords, don't download shady shit and if you think you might have an issue, check your Task Manager for odd activity.
I use Avira
Avira supposedly has a bit better detection rates than Avast, but what you have now is fine.
Avast has served me well for years, don't change. MSE is a lot more lightweight, though.
AVG with Malwarebytes or MSE. Also install shady programs within a virtual system.
I see no pressing need to change the setup you have currently. Avast! works well, and Malwarebytes has yet to let me down. Also, checking task manager doesn't hurt.
I've been using the full version of Malwarebytes for a few months now and it's kept everything clean. I also had Avira for a long time, but the pop ups they force on everyone got frustrating, so that got uninstalled.
Avira is pretty nice
Malwarebytes
Panda, I started using it months ago and I still have not had a problem with it
Sticking with Avast isn't too bad an idea. So long as you exercise common sense, you should be fine. The worst shit should be cleared up by Malwarebytes. I do NOT suggest switching to MSE, its detection rate is abysmal. Check websites like these often, too.
One day I woke up and found some random toolbar installed on Chrome. I have no idea how it got there, as I didn't install anything shady. Anyway, I did a scan with Avast to get rid of it, but it didn't find anything. Then I installed Malwarebytes and it found it instantly. I trust Malwarebytes a lot more than Avast nowadays, but seeing as you're running both I see no reason to switch.
MSE, Malwarebytes and common sense 2014. Adblock and script blockers on chrome is a good idea too.
MSE is awful, don't use it.
I found it useful without causing too much fuss on my background processes. I use MSE for active protection while Malwarebytes for the monthly scans. If you are cautious in the first place, you wouldn't need it but better safe than sorry. On Windows 8, its already installed called i think windows defender.
[del]Norbert[/del] Norton. On a more serious note though I use Comodo and Malwarebytes and they seem to do just fine for me. I don't see any reason to switch from Avast! if that's what you're used to though. From what I know it's one of the better antivirus programs though I haven't used it much myself.
NavaShield
I'm using Avast! but i prefer Kaspersky
Avast as first line of protection, Herdprotect as a second. Both free.
It's just really bad at detecting threats, just use avast or something. MSE barely helps.
I use it because it's very light and out of the way Haven't had any malware for 8 years. The best protection is still gitting gud
Maybe you have malware but MSE isn't detecting it :^)
Sounds like someone needs to git gud :^)
