Hey I'm currently doing my a-levels...well a course thats equiv to them. Basically the course I'm doing is the ICT Level 3 Higher Diploma and it kind of sucks. Its been a month now and all we have done is noob-shit like connecting two computers and we're about to setup wi-fi points in the next two weeks too. It just sucks and to do computer science I will still need to do a-level maths - so I will be at college for three years, four if I cant do maths next year (if it clashes with the course I'm doing now). Both the college and local 6form are fully booked, in fact I had 6form as a backup and got dropped out of all the classes because people were being reserved and they forced me out (as they knew I was going to college). To make it better, because I'm doing this course, I would need to do a years science course at the local (and all others I think) university as well.
What do you guys recommend I do?
Option1:
Continue the course, do maths next year providing it doesnt clash, then do the one year science course and then do computer science.
Option2:
Continue the course (which is two years long) and then do maths+physics+computing for two years more and then do computer science.
Option3:
?????
Note:
I chose this course because they advertised it really well and even the courses' criteria looked good. Plus a guy who did the course a few years back now works for Blizzard. Therefore I went hey this course must go over some really epic things and must be pretty good. However its been incredibly boring, the climax will be learning Java next year and most of the people on the course can't even do html (until now and we're being taught it)...
What would you guys do?

tl;dr: Picked a bad course, full of noob shit, should have done 6form instead, shit what do I do?
Are you any good at maths?

I think if you enjoyed maths the slightest bit at GCSE, you'd be able to do A-level maths, because it gets really interesting. It does get difficult eventually, and you may feel a bit out of your depth to begin with, but all of our class got to grips soon.
I'm really enjoying A-level maths (in A2 year currently, and it's getting tough but not unmanageable), as sad as that may sound.
I'd say go for it.
I think I will stay on at college for four years as I will do computer science at the same time, save more money and leave with moar a-levels. So yeah college for four years...joy... :3 Well I will see if I can pickup maths :3
O and I have a book (huge book from borders that costed £15 - most expensive book I've bought), it teaches you AS and AS2 maths + statistics, mechanics etc. Is statistics and mechanics part of the generic a-level maths course, or is that extra?
Edit:
I got the book to keep my maths skills up and so when I go to do maths, it will be a lot easier.

Mechanics and stats is part of the A level course, yeah.
You'll probably hate a lot of stats (permutations, combinations, argh) but if you're anything like me, you'll probably find mechanics quite fun. I'm all about the pure though.
Oh and there's something called decision maths (?) with module letter D and I have no idea what that is because I've never done it.
Cool shit that'll you'll learn :

Haha yeah I'm for pure maths too. Thanks, much help :3
Do you know if its possible for me to do the exams for math without doing the classes? Is t hat allowed? For example, I could learn all thats required and then do the exams and still leave college in two years.

I see what you mean. I have no idea if that's allowed or not, but I don't really see why not. I'd check with someone else though.
Thanks :D
I will ask my tutor about this :3

No problem. If you do take up maths, feel free to ask me for help and stuff, because I enjoy most of it (don't ever bother with statistics though :v:)
I'm hoping to do computer science at uni too. Best of luck to you.
